A NOTE FROM MRS. B
Howdy Bronco Family! Happy Spring Break! I hope everyone is able to use this time to reset and get ready for the rest of the school year. Before we know it, May will be here. But, there is still lots of learning and activities going on in the classrooms before that happens. So, I encourage you and your child to use this next week to relax and enjoy. If you are traveling anywhere over the break, I wish you safe travels. We will see all the smiling faces back on Monday, March 24th!
Remember, you can always find the latest Meadow ISD news on the MISD website and Facebook page, so go check them out! Also, check your kiddo’s backpack and folders for any important paper notes that may have gone home.
Don’t forget to contact your child’s teacher if you have any questions about what is going on in the classroom. We are always here to help.
It’s ALWAYS great to be a Bronco!
Mrs. B
¡Hola, familia Bronco!
Sra. BMRS. Hello parents,
Here are some more learning activities going on in kindergarten.
This week in math we have worked on related facts for number 6/7, 8/9, and 10. We will practice solving problems by listening to key words to determine if we will add or subtract. Some of the key words we are listening to include, in all, and are left.
In Phonics we have worked on digraph oo. The students will read, write and spell words with digraph oo. They will also practice deleting final sounds, accents and generating words with a particular sound.
Our new sight words were sent out on Tuesday. Practice those words for the next two weeks. Students will be tested on those words next Friday.
In Reading we continue to read fiction and nonfiction books. The students will continue to practice answering comprehension questions by think, pair and share strategies.
AR – Students need to read their library books for at least 20 minutes, and they need to be prepared to take an AR test the next day. All students need to bring their library books to school every day and we will be having Reading Buddies every Thursday.
Please continue to send a water bottle each day.
Thank you,
Mrs. Sanchez

MRS. McCORMICK - 3RD GRADE
Vocabulary:
This week is Lesson 4 of our Vocabu-Lit curriculum. Please help your child study their word definitions ready for a test on Friday.
Reading:
Last week we reviewed poetry and completed a paired practice STAAR Test. This week we are going through a practice on-line STAAR Test to familiarize the students with what the actual test on April 8th will look like.
AR Reading:
On Monday we took an AR Star Test to set reading levels for the final 9 weeks. A letter was sent home on Monday with your child's test score and an update on how your child is doing with regard to independent reading. Please help and encourage your child to read every evening. Reading is the key to all learning. It really shows in class if students are consistently reading.
Language:
Last week we reviewed synonyms. This week we are practicing nouns.
I hope everyone has a relaxing and fun Spring Break. When we come back, we will have just 2 school weeks until our Reading STAAR Test. We are fast running out of time! Please contact me with any questions or concerns.
Thank you!
Mrs. McCormick
¡Gracias! Sra. McCormick

his afternoon, report cards will go home. There are several other items included in your child's envelope. The is a note about No School Tomorrow, Spring Break, Spring Pictures, and Class Pictures. Please take a minute to look over those. I hope everyone has a wonderful spring break. Encourage your child to read at least 15 minutes every day. It doesn't matter what they read as long as they are doing it. Thank you for all your help and support of our class.
Esta tarde, las boletas de calificaciones se enviarán a casa. El sobre de su hijo/a incluye varios artículos más. Hay una nota sobre "No hay clases mañana", las vacaciones de primavera, las fotos de primavera y las fotos de la clase. Por favor, tómense un minuto para revisarlas. Espero que todos tengan unas felices vacaciones de primavera. Animen a su hijo/a a leer al menos 15 minutos todos los días. No importa lo que lea, siempre y cuando lo haga. Fabulous 4th Grade & Marvelous 5th Grade Math
-In 4th Grade, we are still working on metric measurements and conversions. They will learn different metric measurements, when to use them for length and mass and how to convert them from one measurement unit to another. If there are 1000 meters in a kilometer, then how many meters are in 5km.
-In 5th Grade, we are working on data analysis. The students are reading and creating different kinds of graphs. The students will make frequency tables, dot plots, bar graphs, stem & leaf plots and scatterplots. The questions are more complex than what they are used to. They will not only be asked which one has more or less but how much does one category have compared to the other two combined. We are practicing figuring out the wording and clues to be able to answer our math questions because we will see this on the Math STAAR test.
-I have been creating a page or page and a half of review problems for students to complete during the week and due on Friday. Now, if the students do not finish their daily assignment that too is required to get done for the next day. I have few students in 4th grade and 5th grade not turning in their assignments or the homework page I am assigning, and you will be able to see in through their grades and progress report. Please, ask your students if they have anything to complete at night because I need the work to be completed and turned in.
Thank you for your support,
Stacy Gamez
