Parent-Teacher Interview Bookings for November 26 & 27
PowerSchool- Live Reporting
In Red Deer Catholic Schools, all reporting of student progress is done "live," and as such, parents do not receive paper report cards throughout the year.
Parents can access information on student progress by logging in to PowerSchool or downloading the app. See the image and links below for further details.
If you are needing any assistance with your PowerSchool username or password, please contact our school office for assistance.
This year, we are using PowerSchool as our reporting platform. This was based on feedback from stakeholders which indicated dissatisfaction with Schoology, our previous platform. Kindergarten-Grade 4 now uses PowerSchool to report all student progress. Schoology. (Our Pre-Kindergarten uses a program called Gold.)
Teachers use timely and targeted assessments (marks and comments) based on the curriculum outcomes. Teachers will be updating Schoology monthly. We encourage you to log into Schoology and if you are needing any support in this area, please contact your child's teacher.
Growing Smiles Poinsettia and Winter Arrangements Fundraiser
Every year we sell beautiful poinsettias and greenery arrangements grown by DeVry greenhouses ltd. They are a very good quality product and make a great gift! This year we are offering red and white poinsettias in 6.5” pots, as well as wreaths, holiday planters and outdoor greenery arrangements.
Orders are due Friday, November 21. Pickup dates will be December 10 (12:00-4:00 pm) and December 11 (8:00am-4:00pm) at the school provided there are no delays with deliveries due to weather, etc.
Due to the quick turnaround, we will not be doing paper orders this year. Please share the following website with your friends and family and they can order and pay online. https://ladyofrosaryschool.growingsmilesfundraising.com/
The funds will go towards new classroom centers, field trips and materials for the students to enjoy this year and in the future. Thanks again for supporting our Kindergarten fundraiser.
Weather Reminders:
Although we have been enjoying beautiful fall weather, our mornings are turning cooler! We know it is important for children to get outside for fresh air, to play, and to expend energy during the school day. It is necessary that you ensure your children are dressed appropriately each day as they usually go outside. With the cooler weather, jackets, mitts, and toques are now needed. Please ensure to label your child's items.
Please note as well that our threshold for students to remain indoors during recess has changed from -20 to -25 degrees. This is to ensure compliance with our division's new Administrative Procedure for Inclement Weather & Outdoor Air Quality. Please check out our website for our full Inclement Weather Procedures.
Field Trip Forms
Field Trip Forms
If you haven’t had a chance yet, please take a moment to log in to your Parent PowerSchool account and complete the “2025–26 In-Town Transportation Consent” form.
This form gives us permission to bus students to places within town—such as church or local field trips.
We’ll be attending our Advent Mass on December 4 at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, and having this form completed ahead of time helps us get everything ready for the day.
Thank you for your support!
Counselling Corner
