From the Principal's Desk
As another outstanding school year draws to a close, I want to take a moment to reflect on all that our students, staff, and families have accomplished together. From academic achievements and athletic successes to performances, service projects, and countless everyday moments of growth, the 2025-2026 school year has been one filled with pride and opportunity.
The next several days will be especially memorable as we celebrate the accomplishments of our students. We look forward to honoring the Class of 2026 during our Graduation Ceremony on Tuesday, June 23, at 7:00 PM. Graduation is a milestone that represents years of hard work, perseverance, and dedication, and we are excited to celebrate this special occasion with our graduates, their families, and the entire Keyport High School community.
While we celebrate our seniors, our underclassmen will be focused on successfully completing their final exams and preparing for the next chapter of their academic journey. We encourage every student to finish the year with the same commitment and effort that has brought them this far.
To help ensure a strong start to the 2026-2027 school year, all underclassmen will receive summer reading and summer mathematics assignments from their current teachers. These assignments are designed to reinforce essential skills and encourage continued learning throughout the summer months. Students are expected to complete the assignments and submit them when they return to school in September.
For families' convenience, all summer reading and mathematics assignments will also be available on the Keyport High School website, allowing students to access materials at any time during the summer.
As we head into the summer months, I want to thank our dedicated faculty and staff for their unwavering commitment to our students, and I extend my sincere appreciation to our parents and guardians for their continued partnership and support. Together, we have created a school community that values excellence, respect, and opportunity for every student.
On behalf of everyone at Keyport High School, I wish our graduates the very best as they begin the next phase of their journey and hope that all of our students and families enjoy a safe, relaxing, and well-deserved summer break.

Culinary Students Help Celebrate Grandparents Day
Our culinary classes had the opportunity to play a special role in celebrating Grandparents Day by preparing and serving a variety of homemade refreshments for guests. Through this experience, students showcased their culinary skills, attention to detail, and hospitality while helping create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for families and visitors.
Events like this provide meaningful hands-on learning opportunities that connect classroom experiences to real-world applications while allowing students to give back to the school community. Thank you to our culinary students for helping make the celebration so memorable and delicious!

KHS Student Artwork Brightens Downtown Keyport
Another incredible display of creativity is on full display as artwork created by our Keyport High School Art 1 and Art 2 students is being showcased throughout downtown Keyport. This public display celebrates the artistic talent, imagination, and hard work of our students while bringing color and creativity into the community.
Having student artwork featured beyond the classroom provides a meaningful opportunity for students to share their voices and talents with a broader audience while building pride in their work and school community. Congratulations to our student artists and art teachers for continuing to showcase the outstanding creativity happening at KHS—great job, Red Raiders!
Celebrating Our AP Mentor Seniors
Keyport High School proudly recognizes our AP Mentor Seniors for their leadership, dedication, and support throughout the school year. Serving as mentors requires students to lead by example, build connections, and help create a positive and encouraging learning environment for their peers.
These students have demonstrated not only academic excellence, but also compassion, responsibility, and a commitment to helping others succeed. We thank our AP Mentor Seniors for the impact they have made and celebrate all they have contributed to the KHS community. We are excited to see all they accomplish in their next chapter.
Spreading Kindness Across KHS
The Prevention & Alliance Club brought a little extra positivity to Keyport High School by creating and placing kindness rocks throughout the school grounds. Each rock serves as a small reminder of the power of kindness, encouragement, and creating a welcoming school community.
This thoughtful project encouraged students and staff to pause, explore, and discover messages of positivity hidden around campus. Initiatives like this highlight how small actions can make a meaningful impact and reflect the club’s continued commitment to promoting connection, wellness, and school pride throughout KHS.
Tech Time: Smart Summer Tech Habits
Summer is a great time to relax and recharge—but it can also be an opportunity to keep learning in fun and meaningful ways. Technology can be a powerful tool to support creativity, curiosity, and skill-building throughout the break. Students are encouraged to explore educational podcasts, practice coding, create digital art, read eBooks, or use platforms like Google Docs and Slides to journal, design, or plan personal projects.
Summer is also a great time to build healthy technology habits by balancing screen time with outdoor activities, setting goals, and using devices intentionally. Whether students are exploring a new interest, preparing for next school year, or simply staying connected, thoughtful use of technology can help keep minds active while still enjoying a well-earned summer break.
Recharge, Reset, and Enjoy Summer
As summer approaches, it is important to remember that health includes both physical and mental well-being. After a busy school year filled with classes, activities, and commitments, summer provides an opportunity to rest, recharge, and reset. Taking time to enjoy outdoor activities, spend time with family and friends, stay active, and maintain healthy routines can support overall wellness.
Students are encouraged to continue prioritizing sleep, staying hydrated, eating balanced meals, and finding time each day to disconnect from screens. Even small habits—like going for a walk, reading a book, or spending time outside—can make a positive impact. Summer is a chance to relax and have fun while also taking care of yourself and preparing for a successful year ahead.
Attendance Matters: Build Strong Habits for Summer and Beyond
As the school year comes to a close, attendance remains an important reminder that showing up consistently makes a difference. Strong attendance habits help students build responsibility, establish routines, and make the most of every opportunity to learn and grow. Every day spent engaged in school contributes to academic success and prepares students for future goals.
As students head into summer, we encourage everyone to continue building healthy routines that will support a successful return in the fall. Maintaining structure, setting goals, and staying engaged in positive activities over the summer can make the transition back to school smoother and set the stage for another great year at Keyport High School.
