Free Performing Arts Camp: August 5-9
Barrington Stage is partnering with Touching Humanity, Inc. created by Dr. Michael Pizzi, occupational therapist and professional actor, to offer a special camp designed to help children with social skills, and emotional regulation. Campers will develop a sense of teamwork and collaboration with others, increase self-esteem and self-worth and, most importantly, have fun! The specialness of this camp is we do it through music – theatre – movement – and a lot of caring! Most volunteers have backgrounds in therapy and the arts and are all compassionate! We are seeking prospective students with an autism spectrum disorder diagnosis who are between the ages of 12 and 18 years old. Participants need to be able to read a script, move on the stage independently, and communicate from the stage.
