Friday, April 25, 2025
A Note from the PCHS Admin Team
PCHS Community,
Next week, the final progress report of the year will be published on Friday, May 2. Connect with your student(s) this weekend about how they're doing, check their current assignment detail in MiStar, and either celebrate or nudge them accordingly!
Thank you to those of you who have already contributed a gift to the Senior All Night Party! We could use some more help in this area. If you're willing and able, have a look at this Amazon Wishlist and order something to be sent to the planning committee. Thank you!
Have a great weekend, Pirates!
Mrs. McBride & Mr. McMurray
Introducing the Class of 2025 Top 25!
A huge congratulations to this years Top 25 Senior Scholars. This honor is earned through a calculation that includes GPA, SAT score, and the number of AP and Dual Enrollment courses successfully completed. This crew challenged themselves across their high school career, and their hard work is paying off!
Postsecondary & Workforce Readiness - Parent/Guardian Survey (by 5/16, please!)
We need your feedback! We are working hard to be sure your student is prepared for life after high school. Your input on this survey will help us better understand your needs and your student’s needs as they relate to Postsecondary and Workforce Readiness (PWR). Your responses are anonymous, meaning your name will not be associated with your answers. The results of this survey will be used for informational purposes and will help us make decisions about programs and services that will benefit you and your student.
NOTE: Throughout this survey you will see the word "postsecondary." Please keep in mind the term “postsecondary” means “AFTER high school.”

Summer School
If your student is in danger of failing a core class or has failed a core class, please review the information linked below.
2025 Summer School Credit Recovery Info
2025 Summer School Registration Form
2025 Summer Online Learning Consent form
**MANDATORY** Summer School Credit Recovery orientation meeting is on Thursday May 15th 5:30 - 6:30 at Pathfinder in room 404-405 (enter through the BOE doors near the sports field parking lot).
Summer School Credit Recovery is the best way to ensure you are on -track for graduation; complete the class(es) over the summer, to start the next school year without worrying! All students who successfully complete their summer classes will earn a letter grade. This grade will be reflected on the student's high school transcript and is figured into their GPA and replaces their original failed grade.
Thank you,
PCHS Summer School Credit Recovery Team
Spring NWEA Assessments
Students will take the final round of NWEA assessments for the year over the next 2 weeks:
- Tuesday, April 22: ELA
- Tuesday, April 29: Math
Seniors who have already met their growth goal or achieved above the 60th percentile for the year are exempt from the test(s)! We will have an alternative plan for these impressive Seniors during the 90-minute testing window each Tuesday.
Our aim this year is for at least 80% of our students to meet their growth goals in ELA and Math and/or to achieve at least the 60th percentile. We look forward to celebrating our students' growth and learning from the data to close out the year strong instructionally.

Our Student of the Week is also recognized as a part of the Livingston Daily's spotlight, published digitally on Fridays and in print on Sundays.
Lola Konwerski
Lola exemplifies kindness, leadership, humility, and connection in all that she does. She is a quiet force for good—consistently thoughtful, inclusive, and intentional in the way she interacts with others. Though she prefers not to draw attention to herself, Lola is exceptionally influential and leads by example. Whether it’s partnering with someone who needs a friend, speaking up on behalf of a group, or offering help without being asked, she brings a sense of compassion, humility, and purpose to every classroom she enters.
Lola’s open-mindedness, perseverance, and appreciation for excellence shine through in both her actions and her attitude. Her quiet strength, selflessness, and genuine care for others are what make her truly stand out. We are proud to honor Lola for the positive, lasting impact she has on our school community each and every day.
Mrs. Judy Streu
Judy works daily with students who face significant challenges, and she does so with unwavering kindness, patience, and grace. Her calm, compassionate presence provides consistent support, not only academically, but socially and emotionally as well. Judy exemplifies the values of inclusion, integrity, and perseverance, and she goes above and beyond to assist any student in need. Her ability to remain optimistic and good-natured—even in moments of great stress—inspires both students and staff. With her warmth, humor, and open-mindedness, Judy brings out the best in those around her and models exactly what it means to be a part of the PCS community.

Attendance, Earning Credits, & Mr. Mac's Academy
At PCHS, if a student exceeds 10 absences in a semester in a course, they must make up the time missed in order to earn the credit for that course on their transcript - a must for graduation from high school! It is very important to be at school consistently to be successful academically. Please pay close attention to your student's attendance detail in MiStar and proactively support them to stay within that 10 absence maximum per semester. If a student has a hold on their credit due to absences, it will read as an "H" on their transcript.
Mr. McMurray, our Assistant Principal, offers "Mr. Mac's Academy" on Mondays and Tuesdays from 2:30-4:30pm. This is a consistent opportunity to make-up hours due to excessive absences. To attend Mr. Mac's Academy, a student must sign up in advance at the front desk of the Main Office with Mrs. Lasure.
