Dear Mustangs,

Welcome to May! When people ask if the school year is “winding down,” I always reflect on this time of year on a high school campus, we are doing anything but winding down.

This week we begin AP and IB testing. Please remind your students to review the schedules below to ensure they arrive on time and bring the proper materials. Also, remind them that electronic devices of any kind are not permitted in the testing environment. Our students are well prepared for these exams, encourage them to get plenty of rest, eat well, and test with confidence.

In addition to the end-of-year academic demands, our students are also wrapping up their performing arts seasons, spring sports, and many class presentations. We look forward to several teams and programs continuing on to CIF competition. With all of these exciting events, we encourage everyone to take time to rest and care for themselves. This can be a busy and sometimes stressful time, but we’ve got this, Mustangs!

As a reminder to students and families, eBikes, scooters and other motorized vehicles are not permitted on campus grounds. Please make sure you walk those vehicles onto campus for proper parking. Families, please remember to stay diligent looking for pedestrians in our parking lots and surrounding streets.

We also celebrate our teaching staff this week during Teacher Appreciation Week. The work they do each day with our students, along with the countless hours they dedicate beyond the school day, is a true reflection of the exceptional education provided at WHS. Thank you to our teachers, we appreciate you this week and every week!

My best,

Mrs. Jamie G. Norell

Principal
