News You Can Use, Straight From the Fox Den!
From Mrs. Olivero October 3, 2025
Dear Isaac Fox Families,
October is always a special month at Isaac Fox — full of energy, excitement, and opportunities to celebrate together as a school community! We are so grateful for the incredible generosity you’ve shown recently.
Thanks to your giving spirit:
- Our Birthday Box for the D95 Foundationwas full of icing and ready to bring smiles.
- Our Bricks of Hope LEGO drive exceeded expectations, keeping Theo’s legacy of kindness, joy, and building alive in the best way.
You continue to remind us that giving doesn’t always come in the form of gifts — it’s also in the smiles, support, and spirit you bring to our community. Thank you for making Isaac Fox a place where kindness truly shines.
Now, as we head into October’s big celebration, we’re thrilled to share the details for our upcoming Halloween festivities!
🎃 Halloween Parade
When: Friday, October 31 at 8:20am (weather permitting)
Where: Students will exit the door nearest the flagpole and continue on the sidewalk in front of the school, eventually heading toward the back of the school and enter through the back door. Families are welcome to come watch and cheer them on! However, for this event, we ask that you leave your pups at home due to the number of people in attendance. Please do not park on the grass near the soccer field or in the drive in front of the school as it is an emergnecy lane that needs to remain clear.
👻 Halloween Parties
Snacks/Treats: Please do not send treats — our kids will have plenty of candy waiting for them after school!
Volunteers: Parties will be led by room parents and prearranged helpers only.
🧛 Costume Guidelines
- Costumes should be safe, age-appropriate, and school-appropriate.
- No violent/gory costumes, weapons (real or pretend), or fake blood are allowed.
- Masks will be allowed as long as the student can see well and they are not too gory.
- Students should be able to see clearly, move comfortably, and handle bathroom breaks without help.
Students should wear costumes to school that morning so that they are ready for the 8:20am parade.
We can’t wait to see our foxes light up the day with their creativity, laughter, and festive spirit. October is busy, but it’s also a reminder of just how much fun learning, growing, and celebrating together can be.
Thank you for all you do to support our school and keep our community full of kindness, smiles, and joy!
With gratitude and excitement,
Mrs. Kelly Olivero
Principal, Isaac Fox Elementary

Mr. Keller leads small group math instruction in 2nd!
All of our paraprofessionals play an important role in supporting students throughout the day in so many different ways! Here, Mr. Keller is leading a small group of students in Mrs. Gorman’s classroom, reviewing key math skills.
You may have noticed his oversized Chicago Bears hat! When Mr. Keller puts that hat on, it signals to the class that he is doing important work with students and should not be interrupted—unless there is a situation that requires adult help. This simple visual cue empowers students to build independence, perseverance, and stamina in their work.
Thank you, Mr. Keller, and all of our Isaac Fox paraprofessionals for all you do to support our students each day!
LZHS Marching Band Visited IF!
Every other year, the LZHS Marching Band visits Isaac Fox to fill our community with the sweet sounds of music—and this past Wednesday, they did not disappoint! The band, along with the color guard, put on a lively and entertaining performance for our staff and students.
Our foxes not only enjoyed the fun and energy of the show, but also had the chance to learn about the different instrument families—woodwinds, percussion, and brass. This tradition is always a favorite, and we are so grateful to the talented LZHS students for inspiring our young learners and giving them a glimpse of what could be in their future.
A special thank-you goes to Mr. Dan Keilman and Mr. Josh Thompson for working together to bring this much-anticipated event to life. As an LZHS alum myself, I especially loved hearing the Bears fight song—it brought back fond memories of basketball and football games during my high school days.
Be sure to check out the video below for a glimpse of the fun!
Natalie Chun-Student of the Month for September!
Natalie Chun, a 5th grader, was honored at last month's Board of Education Meeting as our student of the month! Natalie is a shining example of the Portrait of a Graduate in action and the Isaac Fox specials teachers were proud to nominate her. Natalie approaches every special class with perseverance, curiosity, and creativity, always eager to learn and grow. Her ability to communicate with kindness and respect makes her a positive leader among her peers. For example, during group activities, she listens carefully and adds her voice with confidence, helping her classmates feel supported and successful. Natalie embraces challenges with a growth mindset, showing resilience and responsibility in both individual and collaborative settings. Through her positivity and strong character, she embodies District 95’s values and mission, preparing herself to be truly future ready. We are so proud of you, Natalie!

From the IF Front Office
Thank you for your cooperation!
Our new Raptor system is now installed and available in our vesituble for visitor check in and check out. You will need to bring your license or ID in with you each time you enter the school for use with the new system. Please have patience while all visitors learn how to use this new system! The office staff is available to help if needed. Thank you for doing your part to help keep our school and safe and inviting environment for all!
Pick up Time and Change in Transportation Method
We strongly discourage students from being dismissed between 2:30-2:50 pm due to the dismissal lines and buses at that time. If you need to pick your child up early, please arrange for a time prior to 2:30pm.
Understand that no changes in student transportation will be made without a written or verbal request from a parent or guardian.
Once we have established your designated travel, you must notify your child’s teacher and the office in writing or via phone call each time a change is made from that routine. If a change in transportation is necessary please adhere to the following guidelines: Notify the office of the dismissal change via note or phone call prior to 2pm.

Car Lane Drop Off and Pick Up Practices
Safety Reminders
When dropping off or picking up your student in the car lane near MSS, it is important that you remain in your car at all times. Students need to be exiting the vehicle on the side nearest the sidewalk and schools. If students need help unbuckling, buckling, gathering and carrying items, then it is best to park in a spot in front of MSS or alternatively use the back lot near the soccer field and walk your child into school. Following this procedure helps maintain safety and efficiency as we get our students from home to school and back again each day. Thank you for your cooperation!

October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month
We’re excited to join schools across the district in raising awareness about online safety for our students, staff, and community. This month, our students are invited to become Cybersecurity Superheroes! They’ll complete four missions: Think Before You Click, Update Your Gear, Protect Your Secret Power Codes, and Tell a Trusted Adult if something online feels unusual. Part of their missions also includes sharing what they are learning with their families so we can all stay safer in today’s digital world.
Parents, you can help your young heroes practice these super skills at home—one mission at a time! - and follow us on Facebook, Instagram, or X at LZdistrict95 as we highlight practical ways families can stay safe online.
Safety on Foot and Wheels
The Illinois Department of Transportation invites you to join schools and communities across the state in celebrating National Walk & Roll to School Day on Wednesday, October 8, 2025.
This annual event promotes safe walking, biking, and rolling to school, encouraging healthier habits, safer routes, and stronger community connections.
As students travel to and from school, we want to remind everyone about the importance of safety. Please take a moment to review these tips with your child:
Always wear a properly fitted helmet when riding scooters or bicycles.
Stop, look, and listen before crossing streets or train tracks.
Use crosswalks and follow all traffic signals.
Stay alert — avoid headphones and phone use while riding or walking.
Be cautious around buses, cars, and busy intersections
We also previously shared resources from the Village of Lake Zurich on E-Scooters, E-Bikes, and E-Dirt Bikes, which can be found [here]. Additional safety resources may be found on the District 95 Safety & Security Website.
Thank you for reinforcing these important safety practices with your student.
