For the 2026-2027 school year, the district will transition from monthly Early Release days to weekly Early Release days.

• Weekly Early Release Days on Wednesday: All Kindergarten - Fifth grade students will be released at 3:00 PM every Wednesday.

Due to construction, DuJardin will NOT have an In-Person Information Day like previous years. All information related to Information Day, including classroom teacher, bus routes, and PTO information will be posted in ALMA or shared via email on Wednesday, September 2, 2026.

As we look ahead to the upcoming school year, we encourage families to begin gathering school supplies soon to ensure everything is ready for the first day. Popular items can sell out quickly, so shopping early is the best way to avoid last-minute stress and make sure your child has everything they need to start the year off strong.

Any student residing 1.5 miles or more from school or along a hazardous route (north of Lake Street, west of Bloomingdale Road, & east of Glen Ellyn Road) is entitled to bus service. All other students must pay to receive bus service. If you rode the bus last school year, we will be sure to route your child again this school year. If you are new to riding the bus, please use the following Google Form to let us know you need bus transportation.

If you are unsure if you need to pay for the bus service, please contact the DuJardin office at DJOffice@sd13.org. If you need to pay for the bus service, please do so in a timely manner using My School Bucks.

District 13 will temporarily shut down students' login access on Friday, August 21st. Students will not be able to log into their chromebooks or access any SD13 systems that require a Google login, even from a personal device. This work helps ensure that all accounts are configured properly and are secure when students return to school. We appreciate your understanding and patience as we complete this necessary work to support a smooth and successful start to the new academic year.

DuJardin Elementary School will be hosting a Meet the Teacher/Supply Drop-Off event on Wednesday, September 9th, from 2:30 pm - 3:30 pm for Kindergarten - 5th grade students. This is an opportunity for you and your child(ren) to come to DuJardin before school begins to 1) say hello to the teacher and 2) drop-off classroom supplies. We ask that parents or another adult accompany students to Meet the Teacher/Supply Drop-Off.

Physical & Immunization Records: Students in Preschool, Kindergarten, Sixth Grade, and new students must have a school physical and be current with required immunizations OR have a medically certified religious exemption on file. Health requirements are due no later than October 15 of the school year.

Dental: Dental forms are required for students entering Kindergarten, Second Grade and Sixth Grade.

Vision: Eye examinations are required for all students enrolling in kindergarten in a public, private or parochial school and any student enrolling for the first time in a public, private or parochial school shall have an eye examination.

Welcome to the new school year! Because of the ongoing construction around DuJardin, we will be holding off on our fall Back to School Bash and hosting a huge End of the Year Bash in June 2027 instead! Look for more details on that celebration next spring.

Important PTO Items:

• Meet the Teacher (Sept. 9th): Stop by the PTO table to connect with board members, pay your $15 annual family PTO dues, and order a $5 Birthday Sign for your student!

• Flyers Coming Home (Sept. 11): If you can't make it to Meet the Teacher, a flyer will be sent home with your child explaining how to submit dues and birthday sign requests.

• Join Us on Facebook: Get connected with other families and get quick answers to your questions by joining the DuJardin Parents Group on Facebook.

• Volunteer Opportunities: Closer to the start of school, we will share a Google Form to gather interest for yearly volunteer opportunities. We can't wait to partner with you!

We have selected specific math fact fluency skills from kindergarten - fifth grade. Enter the codes found below in the IXL search bar to access the math fact skill. Start with the kindergarten skills and work your way up through the grade levels. Reach a SmartScore of 90 or higher on all skills in the grade level and earn a brag tag.

Send a note to school or email your students teacher and office if....

Your child/ren is walking home or being picked up instead of taking the bus

Your child/ren is being picked up by someone other than who is on the pick up list

Your child/ren is going to kids place instead of taking the bus or vice versa

Your child/ren is leaving school early

How: Print out this form, complete the correct information below and return it to DuJardin by the 20th of the month before their birthday month. (For example, a November birthday should return the form by October 20th)

Cost: a suggested $5 minimum donation to the DuJardin PTO
