Bulldog Bulletin
Week of April 27th
Every Voice, Every Heart, Every Day
We are in the home stretch. The final seven weeks are full of fun and activity.
Just before break, we had an exciting week that truly captured the spirit of our community. Our third graders showcased their talents during the strings and recorder performance, followed by an incredible Around the World Night. The food was outstanding and it was wonderful to see so many families come together to celebrate. We closed out the week with our Community Read Aloud, and fourth graders participated in an engaging electromagnetism enrichment program.
We also celebrated Mr. Chuck Day. Mr. Chuck consistently goes above and beyond, and our students made sure he felt just how appreciated he is. He received hundreds of cards, chants, and speeches, all culminating in a cake to celebrate his upcoming birthday. Mr. Chuck takes great pride in keeping our building in top shape, and it was a special opportunity for our school community to recognize what makes him truly the best of the best.
Thank you for your enthusiasm around the Step Up for Colleen 5K. Team Sanborn Bulldogs finished with 137 participants. I look forward to seeing many of you next Sunday. It is a meaningful way to show the Ritzer family how much we appreciate their generous support of our playground.
Looking ahead, third graders will visit the Andover Center for History and Culture next week.
SAFETY ALERTS
First, there has been some unsafe driving during afternoon carpool. It is important that you do not pull out of the lot until directed, and you should never back out if you are in the back row, as this can lead to accidents. If your child has an appointment, please plan to pick them up from the front office rather than using carpool as an early exit. All families must follow the established safety procedures to ensure a smooth and safe dismissal for everyone. If you plan to stay on the playground with your child as the weather gets warmer, it is helpful to park in the top loop so that you are not blocking the carpool lane.
Second, students in grades 3–5 are now allowed to ride their bikes to school. All students must wear a helmet to and from school or they may lose their biking privileges. Massachusetts law requires all children 16 years of age and under to wear a helmet while riding a bicycle.
