Counselor's Corner
Dear Parents and Guardians,
As we approach the joyous holiday season, we understand that it can be a time of excitement, but also of disruption to daily routines. While it is important to celebrate and create special memories, maintaining a sense of structure and consistency can help your child feel secure and supported, especially during this busy holiday season.
Here are a few tips to consider:
Consistent Bedtimes: Even with holiday parties and late nights, try to maintain consistent bedtimes as much as possible. A good night's sleep is crucial for a child's well-being and can help them cope with the excitement and changes.
Mealtime Routines: Stick to regular meal times whenever possible. Even if you are enjoying holiday feasts, try to incorporate familiar meals and snacks throughout the week to provide a sense of normalcy.
Daily Activities: Continue with your child's usual daily activities, like reading, playing outside, or doing crafts. These routines can provide comfort and stability during a time of change.
Open Communication: Talk to your child about the upcoming holidays and any changes to their routine. This can help them feel prepared and less anxious.
Participation: Encourage your child to participate in your family’s holiday traditions. Explain the history of how those traditions came to be. It will provide them with a sense of belonging.
By maintaining a balance between holiday celebrations and familiar routines, you can help your child enjoy the season while feeling secure and supported.
Sincerely,
Dave Vinton

Mrs. Shannon's Superintendent's Newsletter
Mrs. Shannon's newsletter is Linked here in case you missed the email on Friday. Check out the feasibility study information. It will likely be our current students who will benefit if and when we get to build a new middle and high school! Also there are some great ideas for purposeful play and responsible risk-taking.
Toys at School
Of course, there are times that teachers will allow stuffies as part of a pajama day or the like...so look out for those opportunities!
Osgood Harvest Lunch
Osgood Holiday Gift Boutique- a note from the PSO
Please save the date!
Thursday, December 12th 4:00 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. in the Osgood Cafeteria
A sign-up genius will be sent out in December via email for you to sign your child up (Osgood students only!) for a 15 minute shopping spot between 4:00 - 6:30 p.m.
What is the Osgood Holiday Gift Boutique?
The Holiday Gift Boutique was created to give Osgood students (yes, pre-K too!) the chance to experience holiday shopping and the magic of giving! Your child will be able to shop for 5 people (please no more than 5 as to allow every student to be able to participate!). Your child can bring their list with them along with a quarter for each gift. A high school volunteer will shop with your child and help him/her wrap the gifts.
How can I help support the event?
As always, the Osgood PSO welcomes your support in making this event special for all our students.
Monetary Donations:
All items for the shop have been purchased, however, if you would like to make a monetary donation, you can visit the sign-up genius here:
https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0D4FA4A72BA1F4C16-53241822-donations
Thank you in advance for your generous donations!
Volunteering your time:
We are in need of a few parents to help with set-up, shopping, and clean-up! If you would like to be a part of this fun event, please sign up via a sign-up genius that will be sent out in early December.
What do I do while my child is shopping?
While students are shopping, families and caregivers will wait in the hallway outside the cafeteria. Festive raffles as well as Cohasset merchandise (sweatshirts, sweatpants, hats, etc.) will be available in the hallway for all your holiday shopping needs! Also, if you want to order in advance, you can order through the PSO store, www.cohassetpso.org/shop, and then pick up your items that day.
If you have any questions, please contact Katie Lubitz at kcpowell2@gmail.com or Tiffany Doyle at tiffpopoli@gmail.com.
Thank you for your support! We are very excited to continue this annual tradition!
Save the Date- 15 and 16 January
We are planning our Winter Concerts for the middle of January due to the fact that we started the year with guest teachers in for some of the music classes. We have recently hired Megan Rees to teach music on Wednesdays and Thursdays (welcome Ms. Rees!). Mrs. Lewis is also still shared between us and Deer Hill. More concert details to follow.
On Wednesday, we celebrated our ESPs...Extra Special People!
Thank you to our ESPs who support students in so many ways all over our building!
