It's important that you notify the school when your student will be absent, tardy, or being dismissed in advance by using our online reporting system. Go directly to www.weymouthschools.org, select Maria Weston Chapman Middle School, click on the Report Absence icon. Be sure to complete the form throughly and include your childs full legal name, and don't forget to submit the form. Bring proper identification when coming to the school. Please always notify us of dismissals at least two hours in advance. Parents can expect a delay if they come to school without notifying the office in advance.
We are excited to announce the return of the Middle School Basketball program!
These are competitive teams that will play against other Middle Schools in the area. Boys and girls in grades 6, 7 and 8 are welcome to try out. The first step is to register on Family ID by clicking on this link: FamilyID
Students should come dressed in appropriate clothing, and bring a refillable water bottle. No spectators will be permitted.
Tryouts will take place on Monday, December 5th. The tryout time will be announced at a later time.
Sign ups will be on Family ID https://www.familyid.com/weymouth-high-school-athletics starting on Monday Nov 28 and ending on Dec 4th at 7pm.
Students that do not sign up will not be allowed to tryout, no exceptions.
The practice and game schedule will be provided after the teams have been established.
Transportation is the responsibility of parents/guardians, no late bus service available.
In his one-man presentation, ‘You Don’t Know Me Until You Know Me’, Dr. Mykee Fowlin takes the audience on an experiential journey, having them reexamine core precepts that were taught to us from as early on as 1st grade. He uses many of his gifts – humor, performance art, poetry, storytelling, psychology, theatrical monologues, and his personal journey – to create a moving experience for all who are open to this evolution. Our 8th grade students will attend this assembly on December 12th!
Ms. Gamache, Director Career and Technical Education at Weymouth High School presented information about the programs offered and the admissions policy last week to students and families.
The application window for 8th grade students for FALL 2023 is December 1, 2022 - February 1, 2023. Any application received after February 1, 2023, will be automatically be placed on the waitlist.
The Admissions Committee processed applications according to the weighted admissions criteria outlined below. Applicants Final scores equal the sum of sub scores. Applicants may earn a maximum of 34 points. All scores are assigned without regard to race, color, sex, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability and homeless status.
