From the Principal... Matt Clark From the Principal... Matt Clark

What a fantastic way to start the school year! Thursday afternoon’s Sixth Grade Social Kickoff was an incredible event, and it was awesome to see so many of our students there enjoying themselves. A huge thank you goes out to our PTO parents for helping to make the afternoon such a success. We’re already looking forward to more events like this throughout the year—not only for our sixth graders, but for our seventh and eighth graders as well.

This week also marked our first full week of school, and our TMS students did an outstanding job as we completed our fall math and language arts i-Ready assessments. Their effort and focus set a strong tone for the year ahead, and we’re excited to carry that momentum into next week.

Have a wonderful weekend and Roll Thunder!

Dr. Matt Clark

Principal

Important Attendance Reminder

District 303 attendance procedures were updated and approved at the June 9, 2025, Board Meeting. All district procedures are available in the CUSD 303 Student Handbook found in the Parent/Community tab in the Information column of the districtd303.org website.

Updates to the attendance procedures were made to bring consistency across all schools within the district and to clarify student attendance expectations. One example of an update is the removal of the pre-arranged absence procedure. This aligns with the definitions of excused and unexcused absences found in Section 2.2.

Families are encouraged to review the CUSD 303 Student Handbook to familiarize themselves with the districtwide procedures.

iReady...

This week, our students participated in taking the iReady Diagnostic for both math and reading. This diagnostic is not a test that students pass or fail, instead, it is a tool that helps us understand each child’s individual strengths and areas for growth.

The iReady Diagnostic allows us to know which skills have been mastered and what skills students are ready to learn next. During school, teachers use this information to: plan independent lessons, provide small group instruction, monitor progress, and ensure that students are showing growth in both math and reading.

The iReady lessons are personalized to student needs and where gaps may be present. They also provide extra support and challenges for all students. You will receive your child’s iReady results in the mail. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me.

Thank you for being a part of your child’s educational journey! Please see below to find highlights to this week’s math learning. 🙂

Help Us Collect ONE MILLION Pop Tabs!

We’re on a mission to collect one million pop tabs for Ronald McDonald House Charities, and we can’t do it without YOU (and your grandparents, cousins, neighbors, and carpool crew)!

Those tiny aluminum tabs from soda cans, soup lids, or sparkling water may seem small—but when we collect them together, they add up to real support for families with seriously ill children.

Here’s how to pitch in:

  • Save your pop tabs at home—and ask your grandparents, cousins, friends, and neighbors to do the same!

  • Bring them to school all year long.

  • Every tab brings us closer to our 1,000,000-tab goal!

Let's pull together and make a difference!
