Principal's Message
Bus Update - Toy dumplings have been banned on bus. They have been breaking and creating a big mess.
Sporting Events - Footballs and sports balls of any kind will NOT be permitted at IC sporting events.
This policy is in place to help keep our events safe and enjoyable for everyone. Please leave all balls at home when attending athletic events. Thank you for your cooperation and support!
ILEARN Checkpoints & Parent Portal
This fall, students will take part in the first ILEARN ELA Checkpoint on September 29th. Please make sure students arrive on time with a charged chromebook and plenty of sleep the night before.
The checkpoint is short—about 45 minutes with roughly 20 questions—and will cover a range of state standards in English/Language Arts. These checkpoints are not graded like regular classroom tests, but they provide valuable information about student learning. Families will be able to view their child’s results through the Family Portal, which provides timely updates on progress and areas of growth. Log-in information for the Family Portal will be shared after the first checkpoint is complete.
Book Fair & Grandparents Night - We are looking forward to Book Fair the week of September 14th - 18th. More information will be sent home on that soon! Grandparents night will be September 14th from 4:30-6:30. If you would like to volunteer to help out for the book fair, please see Jessica Smith's sign up that was sent out earlier this week.
Thank you!

Grandparent's Night Sept 14th
NHJ PTO
We'd love to see you at our next meeting on Sept. 8th at 6pm in the ICES cafeteria. We also have a public group on Parent Square titled "NHJ PTO". Please join if you'd like to learn about more opportunities to get involved!
Food Pantry
The Braves Food Pantry is up and running and in need of volunteers! By partnering with Gleaners Food Bank, we are able to distribute food three times per month, twice at the Indian Creek Learning Center and once at the ICHS parking lot. Volunteering with the Braves Pantry is a great way to give back to our local community. Please register through this volunteer link. Thank you!
Dean's Dashboard
What a great start to the school year! We have started a new initiative to recognize the amazing students we have here at ICIS! If your students have been talking about a Good News Visit and you would like more information on this process, please see the video below.
Students who receive a Good News Visit are entered into a monthly raffle. Congratulations to the August raffle basket winner! Our student winner, Max Hadden, was able to pick one friend to join him on a behind the scenes tour of our amazing athletic facilities with middle school athletic director, Craig Davis. Our staff winner, Mrs. McCarthy, walked away with a Coffee and Candle themed gift basket. These monthly baskets are already proving to be a great incentive for our students!
