RAMS Welcome Back!
Opening Week Reflections
Welcome back to school, RAMS! The hallways are buzzing again with laughter, new backpacks, and the excited chatter of students catching up with friends and meeting new teachers. Whether your student is starting their very first year with us or returning as a seasoned pro, we are so glad to have each and every one of them here. Our teachers and staff have been working hard to make this year one filled with growth, discovery, and fun, and we can't wait to see all that our students will accomplish together. To our families: thank you for trusting us with your children and for being such an important part of our school community. We have received helpful feedback and appreciate your engagement with our school community. Please look to the Mark Your Calendar section of the newsletter for updating events and holidays. Let's make the year ahead our best one yet!

School Arrival and Release Safety Reminders
Reminders, Updates, and a Map:
- There is no parking or idling in the back lot — no exceptions. This became an increasing issue last year. Enter the drop-off line on Linden Street and wait your turn to move through the front circle. The line can be long, so please plan accordingly.
- The first car should pull all the way forward to the cone closest to the exit onto Woodland and the staff member directing traffic.
- Please encourage students to be ready to exit the vehicle as soon as you have safely stopped and remind students to walk on the sidewalk.
- Students should exit from the right side of the vehicle only.
- No passing unless directed by a school staff member.
- Students may enter the building beginning at 8:15 a.m. sharp. This includes students arriving by bus, car, walking, or biking.
- Arriving early is fine. The overhang provides protection during inclement weather.
- Bikes, scooters, e-bikes, etc. must be walked while on school grounds. No exceptions.
- Please use crosswalks.
- No student drop-off or pick-up on Linden Street or Woodland Street. Families must use the school parking circle or arrange to meet students off campus. Drop-off and pick-up along Linden and Woodland has become unsafe.
- HPD is asking that students use the rail trails whenever possible. Please use designated crosswalks and locations where crossing guards are present.
- Bus passes will continue to be distributed next week. Central office is working with the bus company on passes. Students will be allowed to ride the bus if their bus pass has not been provided yet.

It will be held on October 6th, 2026 from 6:00pm-7:30pm at Holliston High School. Read the flyer for more details and we are excited to see you there!
Reminder: Attendance - Absences and Tardies
When a student is tardy or absent for any reason, parents and families must either call the school (508) 429-0657 and press option 3 or email ramsattendance@holliston.k12.ma.us to report an impending tardy/absence. Notification prior to 8 AM on the day of the absence is requested. When students return to school from being tardy or absent due to an appointment, a medical note is preferred.
Automated Notification: If a student is absent and the main office has not received a phone call or notification from the parent/caregiver by mid-morning, an automated notification system (BrightArrow) contacts the parent/caregiver to verify the student’s whereabouts and ensure that the student is safe.
Health Office Reminders
All medication orders and parent/guardian consent to administer the medication need to be renewed at the beginning of the academic year and/or as necessary during the academic year. Instructions on how to drop off medication for your student and/or addition forms can be found on our website: Holliston Public Schools Health Office. The school nurse must provide written consent for your student to self-carry medication at school. Please reach out to your student’s school nurse if you have any questions.
All medication that is to be stored in the Health Office must be delivered by a parent or guardian to a school nurse.
After-School Medications: If your RAMS student will be staying for ANY after-school activity (i.e. sports, clubs, etc.) and has a rescue medication prescribed (i.e. Epipen, inhaler, seizure rescue medication, etc.), please check-in with the school nurse as soon as possible to make a plan for after-school activities, since typically no nurse is in the building after dismissal. We encourage all of our students to carry their own EpiPens and/or inhalers, however consent to self-carry MUST be on file with the school nurse each academic year. Even if this information has already been provided to the school, we also strongly encourage parents/guardians to reach out to the responsible adult who will be supervising their student in that after-school activity to ensure that adult is aware of the medical diagnosis and any applicable rescue medications.
