The Weekly Update #4

Dear Loveland Families,

We wanted to share an important dismissal update as we continue to make adjustments to improve traffic flow and make our dismissal process as safe and efficient as possible.

Beginning this week, we have moved our Loveland buses and vans to the back parking lot for dismissal. This change allows us to use more of the front parking area for parent pick-up and gives us additional space to keep traffic moving.

🚗 Parent Pick-Up

We are asking all parent pick-up vehicles to please pull forward into Parking Lot B. Our parent pick-up line will now extend into the area that was originally designated as our bus lane.

Once you enter the pick-up area, please use two lanes, similar to the parent pick-up process we used on Ridgewood at Loveland. Using both lanes and continuing to pull forward will allow us to load more students at one time and help prevent traffic from backing up.

Our staff will be outside helping students locate their vehicles and assisting with loading. Please continue to follow staff directions, pull forward when directed, and remain alert for students and staff throughout the pick-up area.

We tried this new process on Friday and felt it was very successful and made a significant difference in our parent pick-up traffic flow. We will continue to monitor dismissal and make adjustments as needed.

Thank you for your patience, flexibility, and partnership as we continue to improve our routines at the Swing School. Keeping our students safe while creating an efficient dismissal process remains our priority.

We have made several adjustments to our bus procedures that we hope will help improve morning pick-up and afternoon drop-off times for our students and families. We appreciate your patience as we continue to learn, adjust, and improve our transportation procedures.

Currently, we have four bus routes serving students throughout the Loveland attendance area.

New Afternoon Bus Dismissal Process

We have moved our Loveland buses to the back parking lot of the Swing School. Since West Campus students dismiss at 2:45 PM, we are able to take advantage of the back lot for our bus dismissal.

To help make sure our students are ready and our buses can leave on time:

• Loveland staff members will pick up bus students from their classrooms a few minutes before dismissal and escort them to the buses.
• Four staff members will be waiting with color-coded bus signs:
  • 🔵 Bus #1 – Blue
  • 🟡 Bus #2 – Yellow
  • 🟢 Bus #3 – Green
  • 🔴 Bus #4 – Red
• The staff member holding each bus sign will take attendance as students load the bus.
• Before a bus leaves, our team will double-check that we have the correct students on each bus.

Because different buses may be used for our routes from day to day, we are unable to place permanent color-coded signs directly on the buses. Having our Loveland staff hold the bus number/color signs provides our students with a consistent visual each afternoon, regardless of which bus is being used.

🎒 New Color-Coded Backpack Tags

Beginning Monday, bus students will also receive a small colored tag for their backpack that matches their assigned bus color.

For example, a student riding Bus #1 will have a blue backpack tag and will look for the Loveland staff member holding the blue Bus #1 sign at dismissal. We hope this additional visual will make it even easier for students and staff to quickly identify the correct bus.

We have made some adjustments to the routes, and we are hopeful these changes will help our buses arrive much closer to their scheduled times for both morning pick-up and afternoon drop-off.

Loveland Bus Families,

Please help us ensure that all of our students get to and from school safely each day by having your child use the same bus stop for both morning pick-up and afternoon drop-off each day.

It becomes very difficult for our school staff and bus drivers when a student gets on the bus at one location in the morning but expects to get off at a different location in the afternoon.

Consistency is extremely important. Please choose one bus stop for your child and use that same location each day for both pick-up and drop-off.

Loveland dismisses at 3:00 PM every Wednesday, which is 30 minutes earlier than our regular dismissal time. Please refer to the Wednesday time listed in parentheses next to your child’s regular drop-off time.
