Wildcat Weekly- 9/14-9/18

Message from Mrs. LeMaster 🐾
Dear Pomerado Families,
September is National Attendance Awareness Month, and we’re highlighting the important role regular school attendance plays in student success.
When students attend school consistently, they have more opportunities to learn, build relationships, participate in classroom experiences, and stay connected to their school community. Every school day matters!
Parent partnership is an important part of helping students develop strong attendance habits. You can help by:
Establishing consistent bedtimes and wake-up times so your child is rested and ready for school.
Planning ahead and scheduling appointments and vacations outside of school whenever possible.
Communicating with your child’s teacher when your child is absent due to illness or a religious or cultural observance.
Staying connected by regularly checking in with your child about how school is going.
Emphasizing the importance of being at school and helping your child understand that every day is an opportunity to learn and grow.
Reaching out to us for support if your family is experiencing challenges that make regular attendance difficult. We are here to help!
Thank you for partnering with us to help our Wildcats! For additional attendance tips and resources, visit PUSD Attendance Resources.
With gratitude,
Lauren LeMaster
Religious Observances
Dear Pomerado Families,
We recognize and respect the many religious traditions observed in our school community. We know that these observances are deeply meaningful, and we are committed to supporting your child should participation require them to miss school.
If your child will be absent for any reason, please notify our school office. Absences for religious observance are excused. We will work with your students to ensure that they remain supported academically and remain included in the school community.
We are grateful for your continued partnership and for the many contributions you make to our community. Together we uphold our shared commitment to developing an inclusive environment where every student feels supported and valued.
Sincerely,
Lauren LeMaster

Parent Digital Attendance Reporting Via ParentVue
As a reminder, parents are able to digitally report attendance directly through their secure Parent Portal account (ParentVue). This convenient option allows parents and guardians to quickly submit absence information without a phone call or email. Here is a quick how-to-guide.
Please note: Digital reporting is an additional option; traditional attendance reporting methods remain available such as our 24 hour Attendance Hotline (858) 679-2604 and Attendance Email PMESattendance@powayusd.com A students absence should be reported within 24 hours. When calling or emailing; please state your name, relationship to student, student name, teacher, and reason for absence.
All absences must meet California Education Code criteria for excused absences as shared in our previous Wildcat Weekly.
Thank you for partnering with us to support your child’s regular attendance and success!

Our first SSC meeting will be Thursday, September 24 at 3:00 PM.
📝Parent Feedback Needed!📝
