๐ฅ 2027 Benefits Update: Healthcare Highways Transition
Effective January 1, 2027
Your continuity of care is our top priority as Pflugerville ISD transitions exclusively to Healthcare
Highways on January 1, 2027. Use the resources and guidelines below to verify your providers,
submit nominations, and ensure a seamless switch.
In-Network Provider Search
Confirm whether your current doctors and facilities are in-network before January 1:
- Texas Residents: Search the HCH Sync - TX network at providersearch.healthcarehighways.com.
- Out-of-State Dependents & Travel: Access the national First Health network for dependents outside Texas or while traveling at myfirsthealth.com.
Essential Care Considerations
- Emergency Care: ER visits are always covered as in-network, regardless of facility or location.
- Virtual Access: Use Frontier Direct Care at no cost while traveling or out of state.
- Transition of Care: Dedicated support is available if you are currently in active treatment (such as ongoing oncology or OB/GYN care). Please complete the HCH Transition of Care Request Form as soon as possible to ensure seamless coverage.
What to Do If Your Provider Is Not In-Network
1. Nominate to Healthcare Highways: Request to add your primary or specialty care provider at healthcarehighways.com/nominate-provider or scan the QR code.
2. Nominate to Frontier Clinic: Scan the QR code to nominate to see if Frontier can contract
with your specialist prior to January 1, 2027.
Questions & Support
HCH has established a dedicated email inbox for PfISD employees. Employees can use this inbox
to check provider status, assist with nominations, or answer continuity-of-care questions.
๐ป The redesigned Classrooms page is now live in SchoolStatus Connect!
Here's what's new:
A new sidebar with everything educators and families need
Every classroom now has a sidebar on the right with two things built in: Classroom Resources and Upcoming Events. For classroom editors, that's a steady spot to keep the syllabus, key assignments, and other class info up to date. For families, it's a quick place to find everything from the classroom rules to upcoming field trip dates without looking through old announcements.
Announcements, with fewer steps
Classroom editors get a new Announce to Class button right at the top of the page. Click it, and the announcement composer opens with your classroom already in the recipient field, so getting information out to students and families takes less time than before.
Classroom settings, right next door
Classroom Settings now sits right next to the Announce to Class button, so editors can make important changes without leaving the classroom.
You'll also notice a cleaner look across every classroom page, including a refreshed banner, avatar, and badges, plus an updated classrooms list. Your permissions and the way you deliver announcements stay the same.
๐ฉ Platform Change for Submitting Workorders
The name below the icon will be changed to Get Help to better represent the single platform for all
workorder systems. See below for more information.
NEW -- Platform Change for Submitting Workorders
All service requests related to Maintenance/Facilities, Security & Special Systems, Technology, and Rentals will now be handled through the single platform - Incident IQ.
Incident IQ is replacing FS Direct and Operations Hero effective September 1, 2026.

Additional Details for Security and Special Systems Workorders
Security and Special Systems requests, for example badge access, fire panels, intercoms, etc. will
now be entered via the Incident IQ platform.
End users will access Incident IQ as usual.
- From the โWhat is this ticket about?โ screen, click on โAll Other Requests Located Hereโ
- Next, from the โSelect an issue categoryโ screen, click on โSecurity and Special Systemsโ
- From here you will select the specific issue you are entering a workorder for.

at 594-HELP (ext. 44357)

Pfirst Steps Academy โ (via The Stewart Family)
โWe were so nervous for our littles to start at a new place, but Ms. Janay, Ms. Jessica, Ms. Gysel, and Ms. Crystal have done such an amazing job at building that rapport with them. Our littles now walk into the classroom without any tears or hesitation. It feels great to know that Pfirst Steps Academy has become a fun, learning environment for our littles where they are cared upon.โ
Samantha Moreno โ Weiss High School (Anonymous)
โMs. Moreno is a rockstar! We have such a busy campus, and she consistently handles every task with efficiency, professionalism, and grace. We are incredibly lucky to have her on our team!โ
Chris Hass, Anthony Iwabuchi, Chris Chromcak, Cruz Alvarado and Jayden Dela Rosa โ Distribution (via Lauren Tarbet, Distribution)
โI would like to give a big kudos to the distribution team for all of their hard work throughout the summer and beginning of the school year. The team has been met with a lot of unexpected delays with district textbooks, injured team mates, and higher than usual courier volume. They have endured 100+ degree weather and still manage to get the job done without complaint even when it looks like the rush will never come to an end. They make it happen for the district and keep copy orders, warehouse supplies, custodial supplies, textbooks, and packages move smoothly on a daily basis throughout the district. We are lucky to have you all at PFISD!โ
Verinicia (Nicey) Watson โ Transportation (via The Athletics Office)
โNicey worked magic to get a bus for PMS Cross Country to make it to a competetion in a short time span. She went above and beyond to make sure athletes did not miss out on a chance to compete.โ
Tony Nardecchia โ Support Services (via Gloria Mancias, Communications)
โTony, I just want to say a big thank you for all your help with delivering the rug to the campus. You truly went above and beyond to help make it happen, and I really appreciate all the time and effort you put into it.
Thank you, Tony, for all that you do and for always being willing to help. Your support is greatly appreciated!โ
Nora Mosely โ HR (via Gloria Mancias, Communications)
โWe are truly blessed to have Nora at our district! She is always there with a helping hand when you need it and goes above and beyond for everyone, especially for me. โค๏ธ
Nora, I just want to say thank you for all that you do. Your kindness, support, and willingness to always help mean more than you know. We are so lucky to have you! ๐โค๏ธโ
Jennifer Ebert โ Weiss High School (via Mr. K, Weiss/Math)
โJenn has been doing an amazing job covering my classes while I heal from a knee reconstruction surgery. Easy to work with, highly recommend her.โ
Teyan Allen โ Curriculum and Instruction (via Provan OC)
โTeyan has shown up for our campus helping us navigate computer and technical issues beyond our own scope and capabilities. She takes time to understand our problems, and works to get our students and staff the program access we all need to be successful. She keeps us up to date and celebrates with us every step of the way. Thanks Teyan for your hard work and dedication. We are very grateful for you!โ
Shelby Rupley, RN, Coach Ochoa, Jeff Martinez, Michael Hartsfield and Emily Delgado โ Westview Middle School (via Denise Petherbridge & Shelby Edmondson, Health & Safety)
โA heartfelt thank you for their extraordinary responsiveness during a recent medical emergency on campus. When a student needed immediate medical attention, they all stepped in without hesitation, responding with speed, calm professionalism, and expert care until emergency medical services arrived. The quick thinking and composure displayed by our team made all the difference.
This incident is a powerful reminder of why our district is actively working toward becoming a District of Lifesavers. Our goal is to ensure every school is equipped with CPR-trained staff, clear emergency response protocols, and accessible lifesaving equipment like AEDs. Emergencies can happen in a split second, and having a team prepared to act saves lives.
Thank you to them and to all of our staff membersโfor everything you do every single day to keep our students safe, supported, and cared for.โ
