New Beginnings, New School Year!
βAnd now we welcome the new year, full of things that have never beenβ
β Rainer Maria Rilke
I cannot believe the first week of school is over! What a chaotically, fun week. It's been fantastic to walk around and see smiley students in their new and/or old groups of friends. One day I even "set up camp" outside and had students walk up and ask questions, change schedules, etc. It was great!
The energy around campus has been fun and vibrant and it feels so good.
My newsletters are to inform parents mostly, but there will also be information for students. Some information carries over each week, but always look for the new stuff.
A little about me: My name is Kristina Juarez. I am a resident in Rohnert Park. This is my sixth year at Tech High, but my 20th year in the district. I am married and have 5 children (2 bio and 3 step). One of my biological children comes to Tech High and the other graduated from here. Therefore, I am beyond proud of being a Tech High parent and employee. I also have a dog named Nala who I have everyday and is a certified therapy dog. The students love her and the other therapy dogs on campus.
I am very easy to get ahold of and respond pretty quickly. If you ever need anything, please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions, clarification, or concerns.
PSAT, SAT, and ACT will be held here at Tech High in October. A sign-up sheet will go out next week.
Please continue to reach out to me if any support is needed by any family or student. I am here for you ALL through email, phone, visits, Google Chats, Google Meets whichever is your preference.
See below for friendly reminders: Important Dates, Mental Health Tips/Resources, SRJC information, Scholarship opportunities, and volunteer opportunities.

Interested in Playing Sports in College?
Let me know the colleges you are interested in playing for and I will do my best to help you figure out how to get their attention! Here is a list of the colleges to search for Division 1, 2, and 3: https://www.ncaa.org/sports/2021/5/3/membership-directory.aspx
I talked to our league and found out some information that I would like to share with you. It will take some work on both of our parts, but if you really want it, it's possible to get it from THS!!
Are you able to waive PE?
1) Play two seasons of sports here at THS. *If it's tennis you must be one of the competitive players*
You must get the PE Waiver signed by you, your parent, and your coach and then turn it into the office. Please do that once you have two seasons completed...forms are in the office.
2) Take TWO PE Classes at the JC, they must be fitness classes, not lecture classes.
3) If you are a Junior or Senior and have done 1 year of PE and are 16 years or older then you will just need to fill out a Google Form to be exempt.
If you take two JC Fitness classes, please send us your final grades from the JC!
Reminders...
Community Service Hours
Turn those in so we aren't running around trying to get them done when it's your senior year and trying to graduate. The sooner you get them done and turned in, the better. All students need 40 to graduate.
College Courses
Turn in transcripts or snapshots of your final grades for any class you are taking outside of Technology High School and want credit for. Turn them in by the end of the year, please!
As soon as you turn 18...
