THE BEAR ESSENTIALS
Week of April 20, 2026
Hello Bear Families,
As we move further into the last quarter of the school year, we continue to encourage our students to stay focused, keep up with their coursework, and finish the year strong. If your student needs extra support, our Homework Den is available in the LMC from 3:00 to 4:00 PM on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Teachers are there to help students stay on track and feel confident as we head toward the end of the year.
We have an exciting week ahead filled with incredible opportunities for our students. Our talented music department will be heading to New York from April 22 through April 26. This is an amazing experience, and we are so excited for them as they showcase their talents and represent Roosevelt with pride.
At the same time, our DECA students will be competing at their International Career Development Conference from April 24 through April 29. We are incredibly proud of their hard work and dedication and wish them the very best as they compete on the international stage.
Back at school, we are celebrating Earth Day in a fun and meaningful way with our Earth Day Spirit Week from April 20 through April 24! This is a great opportunity for students to show their school spirit while also recognizing the importance of taking care of our planet. Spirit Week themes include:
Monday: Wear Green
Tuesday: Tropical Tuesday
Wednesday (Earth Day): 9th grade recycled t-shirts, all other grades wear blue and green
Thursday: Pollinator theme
Friday (Arbor Day): Dress like a tree
We are looking forward to a week full of school spirit, creativity, and positive energy!
Thank you for your continued support. Let’s keep the momentum going and make this final marking period a great one for all of our students!
Go Bears!

In honor of mental health awareness in May, The Guidance Center is hosting a free event on May 12 for the community featuring a wonderful speaker from the MI Child Protection Registry. The presentation is geared towards parents on how to keep their children safe in today's internet/app-based world and how to have open conversations with youth about the topic.
