MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Dear Franklin Students and Families,
We are 18 school days away from the last day of school for seniors! Graduation is quickly approaching. We will celebrate the Class of 2026 on Tuesday, June 2nd at 7:30pm at PSU. Let us know if you have any questions about Graduation, Senior Recognition Assembly, and Senior Final Clearance Day. You can also review the Senior Corner website here with more information.
In the month of May we take time to reflect and celebrate the important role that Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders have played in our nation's shared history. Click here to learn more and for access to educational resources.
May 5th is the National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit relatives (MMIW). We honor those impacted and commit to raise awareness of this ongoing crisis affecting Native communities. You can learn more about this devastating national issue on the National Indigenous Women's Resource Center website. Below is a list of local activities and events that you can attend including two Powwows on Saturday one at Portland State University and one at Pacific University.
Have a wonderful and sunny weekend. We will see you on Monday.

NEW: Site Council Needs New Parent Reps
The FHS Site Council is looking for some parents who have a little vision and would like to collaborate with teachers, students and admin to make Franklin the best place it can be.
Site Council is composed of students, caregivers, teachers and administrators at Franklin (usually 2 of each). We meet once a month, mostly virtually with a couple of in-person meetings per year.
Site Council is what we make it. Don't give in to the darkness! Together we can make things better for this community of students. Please reach out to cookholly@gmail.com with questions. And/or come to our next meeting at FHS on Monday, May 11th at 4:00 pm, Room SS-009. We will also have a table at the May 16th Spring Parent Coffee and Connections in the FHS library from 9:00-10:00am. We hope you will join us!
NEW: AP Capstone Night
On Thursday, May 21st from 5:30–7:30pm, we’re excited to host our very first AP Capstone Night, a special community event celebrating the hard work and achievements of our AP Research and AP Seminar students.

We hope you can make it! If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to Anna York, AP Research teacher (ayork@pps.net).
