Distraction Free Schools

New York State’s “Distraction-Free Schools” Law (S.3006 / A.3006) prohibits the use of internet enabled devices during the school day including during instructional time, passing periods, and lunch. These devices include but are not limited to cell phones, tablets, smartwatches, gaming systems, and ear buds. Students are encouraged to leave all personal electronic devices at home as the district is not responsible for any lost, stolen or damaged devices. If students choose to bring an electronic device to school, it must be powered off and remain secured in their school issued locker for the duration of the day. Students will not be permitted to access their locker during class periods and should be prepared for each class prior to arriving. Any student caught in possession of an electronic device during the school day will need to bring it to the office where it will be stored until a parent or guardian is able to retrieve it. Students who refuse to turn in a device when asked will be considered insubordinate and disciplined according to the school’s Code of Conduct. Students will also be subject to disciplinary action according to the discipline matrix outlined in our student handbook.

Attendance Matters!

Did you know that attending school every day is one of the most important factors in your child’s academic success? Consistent attendance helps students stay on track with learning, build strong habits, and connect with their school community.

To celebrate and encourage excellent attendance, students with perfect attendance during the first semester will be invited to a special breakfast celebration!

But that’s not all—those students will also be entered into a raffle for exciting prizes, courtesy of our PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) Committee! More details to come—stay tuned!

Let’s work together to make attendance a priority and give our students the best chance to succeed!

New York State Assessment Score Reports

At the beginning of each school year, families will receive important information about how their child performed on the most recent New York State Assessments. These reports are a valuable tool in understanding your child’s academic progress.

Our district is committed to helping every student achieve proficiency in core subjects:
📚 English Language Arts (ELA)
➗ Math
🔬 Science

We encourage you to review the assessment results with your child and celebrate their efforts and growth. These conversations can help set goals and reinforce the importance of learning.

If you have any questions or would like more information about your child’s report, please contact your child's school counselor.
