Dear KRS Families,
This was an exceptional week because of the painting of our KRS mural! Thank you to the parent volunteers who were so wonderful with assisting our young artists as they painted their very special parts of the mural. Great thanks to art teacher Mr. Thompson and ELL teacher Miss Bihuniak for leading such an engaging and positive project! Thank you to the KRS PTO for their continuous support! Have a wonderful weekend!

News from School Counselor Mr. Levine
The 5th grade student council is looking for donations of cubed tissue boxes (as opposed to rectangular boxes). These cubed boxes will be decorated with pictures, knock-knock jokes, and fun facts. The fun-decorated tissue boxes will be donated to a local nursing home. Please bring the tissue boxes to the homeroom teachers by Wednesday January 25, 2023.
Mr. Levine’s guidance lessons this week, continued to focus on the importance of being an upstander instead of a bystander in certain bullying situations.
The third grade lunch group is going strong. This week, groups 1 and 3 met. Lots of laughs and fun were had by all.
KRS February Community Service Project - Coming soon!
The KRS school safety committee is planning school-wide community service projects for the remainder of the 2022-2023 school year. Our first project will be a collection in February for the Valerie Fund. The Valerie Fund's mission is to provide individualized care to centers close to home ( There are centers at Morristown Medical Center, Overlook Medical Center and others.), focused on a belief that the most effective way to heal the children under their care is to treat them emotionally, socially, developmentally, as well as medically.
