Dear KRS families,
We began Women in History month today with fourth graders announcing information to all students about the creation of Women in History month. On Monday and throughout the month of March, fourth graders will take turns to share the name and a short biography of a famous woman during the morning announcements.
The STEAM Fair on March 13, 2024 is quickly approaching. Please encourage your child to participate. It is a great night full of learning and sharing of STEAM related student discoveries. More information is included in this newsletter.

Winter Greetings from the Art Room!
Winter Greetings from the Art Room!
Your artists have been working hard on many new projects. Most grades have completed their
self portraits, you will see some of them coming home soon. After learning about the Lunar New
Year and painting their very own dragon, Kindergarten is now learning about famous artist Frida
Kahlo. First grade created beautiful paintings of flowers inspired by artist Clementine Hunter.
Third and Fourth grade are beginning mixed-medium projects that include printmaking, and
exploring the Amazon River and homes of Burkina Faso! Fifth grade is just beginning a project
that uses origami to create radial symmetry.
One School, One Book
Mrs. Sims is currently busy working with our wonderful PTO leadership to bring One School/One Book back to Kings Road School. The committee has chosen a title and it is under lock and key!! More information to follow.
