6th & 7th Grade Families: Volunteers needed to help at 8th grade promotion!

We could still use a few more families with current 7th graders (or 6th graders) to help with ushering, set-up and clean-up at Montera's 8th grade promotion ceremony next Tuesday, May 27nd at Skyline. If you can help please head over to Signup Genius and make our 8th grade coordinator's day:

https://www.signupgenius.com/go/4090F4CACAD28A5FD0-56925204-2025#/ (sorry if we sent you a bad link previously - this is the correct one)

It's a tradition at Montera for 7th grade families to handle these tasks so the 8th grade families can enjoy the day - and next year when you get to relax during promotion, you'll see why this is such a great tradition! (And if you're a 6th grade family and really want to bank some karma, we're happy to have your help, too!)

Questions? Please contact our 8th grade coordinator at 8thgradeactivities@monterapto.com.

Montera Gardening & Food Partnership!

Montera is participating in the OUSD Environment-Food-Garden Champion Program. The OUSD Environment, Food, Garden Champion Program is a program component of the EFG Team at The Central Kitchen, Instructional Garden, and Education Center aka The Center. This role helps us foster healthy and joyful school environments where all students, families and staff can thrive. The EFG Champion is an integrated position for OUSD school site staff integrating the themes of environment, food, and gardens in their schools. EFG Champion(s) will work closely and collaborate with The Center Environment, Food, and Garden Team at The Center.

Montera is partnering with Arizmendi on Lakeshore to grow and share our harvested vegetables with the local coop. Arizemendi will then use the vegetables to make pizza and donate the pizzas to the school. All this and more in 2025-2026!
