Small Math Groups

Ms. Boguszewski recently started hosting small math groups for students who are looking for a challenge and have earned a grade of mastery on recent assessment(s) and/or have scored in the 80th percentile or above on the Concepts and Applications portion of the Aimsweb test. Groups will meet once a week for approximately 20–30 minutes. Students will be pulled from their regular math class, but the time that your student is pulled is strategic so that they will not be missing any new material. Students will have an opportunity to work on challenging problems that build upon the concepts they are currently learning in math. Each week, students will receive a packet of challenge problems to work on throughout the week. The packet is not required to be completed; students can work on it when they have extra time in class, during WIN, or take it home if they would like. Students should turn their work in to Ms. Boguszewski at the beginning of the next small-group session or place it in the Weekly Challenges folder in their math classroom at any time during the week. Even if a student completes just one problem, Ms. Boguszewski would like them to turn it in so she can provide feedback. Answer keys will also be posted in Google Classroom each week so students can check their thinking and learn from their work. If you have any questions, please reach out to Renea Boguszewski at rjbogus@sunprairieschools.org.

Hi everyone,

Happy October! Crochet Club kicked off last Wednesday, and far more students showed up than I expected, which is wonderful! Because of the great turnout however, I'm running short on some supplies.

If you have any yarn, crochet hooks, or looms you'd be willing to donate, I'd be so grateful. I've also created an Amazon wish list for anyone who would like to contribute that way: [link]

You can drop donations off in the main office or in my room, 425, anytime.

Thank you so much for your support!

SPORTS SPECTATOR INFORMATION

A reminder about being an athletics spectator. In order to attend any athletic events in the gyms at Central Heights, Prairie View, or Patrick Mash, students need to enter and sit with a caretaker. Each student needs their own adult to be able to enter. Central Heights staff will be at the games to ensure this 1 to 1 entry policy is being followed. Thank you for showing your school spirit and support of our athletes by attending the games responsibly!

STUDENT FEE INFORMATION

You will see in your students Infinite Campus (Parent Portal) that two fees have been assessed to your student, one fee is $20 (2026-2027 Consumable Fee) and the other is $10 Club Fee. The $20 consumable fee is to help cover the cost of class consumable materials. A few years ago, the district use to charge a fee for specific classes (ex: Tech Ed, $30, F/CS, $35, PE $5, etc.) The district decided to go away from that and assess all students a flat fee. For middle school students it is $20 and is a required fee. The $10 Club fee is a one time fee that needs to get paid IF you child participates in any club during the year (ex: Dudgeons/Dragons, Drama (school play), GSA, etc.). If your student does not participate in any club, that fee will be removed in the spring.

I know there has been some questions so we are hoping this clears up a few. If you have any questions please feel free to call Schell at 608.318.8000 ext. 5804 or email: srjasze@sunprairieschools.org.

Important Safety Update: District Launches Speak Up Speak Out Reporting Tool

Fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and mental health support is essential to the Sun Prairie Area School District. To enhance our campus safety protocols, our district is transitioning to use a reporting system called Speak Up Speak Out (SUSO) for all safety concerns. In the past, we used SUSO specifically for reporting threats of school violence. Now, we are transitioning to use it for any safety-related concern.

What is Speak Up Speak Out?

Speak Up Speak Out is a comprehensive, confidential safety reporting system supported by state safety resources.

Students and families can use SUSO to report a wide range of concerns, including:

  • Bullying, Cyberbullying, and Harassment

  • Threats of School Violence or Weapons

  • Peer Mental Health & Crisis Situations (e.g., self-harm, severe distress, depression)

  • Drug or Alcohol Misuse

  • Any Other Safety or Campus Concerns

SUSO has many benefits that helped us make the decision to transition away from other electronic reporting systems:

  • Empowers Student Voice: Gives students a direct, secure option to speak up when they notice concerning behavior online or in person.

  • 100% Confidential Option: Removes the fear of social retaliation by allowing students to submit tips confidentially.

  • Round-the-Clock Monitoring: Reports are monitored 24/7/365 to ensure urgent threats or mental health crises receive immediate attention.

  • Collaborative Intervention: Connects school administrators, counselors, and local safety teams to provide targeted supports.

Accessing the Speak Up Speak Out portal is quick and straightforward:

  • District Website: Click the Speak Up Speak Out link located on the main page of our district and school websites.

  • Web Search: Search "SUSO Wisconsin" in any browser to reach the main reporting site.

  • Bookmark this link so you have quick access if you ever need to use it.

We ask that you review this tool with your student and reinforce the message that reporting a concern can save lives, help our schools be safer spaces, and support peers in crisis.

Thank you for your continued partnership in keeping our schools safe.
