Week of February 16, 2025
From the Desk of Our Proud Principal
Good evening, Trojan Families!
This is a message from your proud principal, Mrs. Kinard, and the school leaders at Ferndale Middle School. We strongly encourage you to access the digital version of this announcement, available on our school website and social media. It contains additional important information that you and your students need to know.
Good Evening Trojan Families,
I hope this message finds you well! I wanted to share a few important reminders for the upcoming week:
📌 Monday, February 17th – Teacher Workday
There will be no school for students on Monday, February 17th, as it is a scheduled teacher workday.
📌 Report Cards Sent Home
Report cards were sent home with students last week. Please take a moment to review your child’s progress. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to their teachers or the school for assistance.
📌 Paving the Way to Success Parent Night – Thursday at 5:00 PM
We invite you to join us on Thursday, February 20th, at 5:00 PM for our Paving the Way to Success Parent Night event. This is a great opportunity to connect with teachers, learn about student success strategies, and engage with our school community. Food will be provided, so bring the family and join us for an informative and engaging evening!
Thank you for your continued support. We look forward to seeing you on Thursday!
GCS Immigration Response
Every family should know that every child in Guilford County has the Constitutional right to attend school regardless of immigration status. The Guilford County Schools does not request or record information about a student’s immigration status. Federal and state laws protect student information from disclosure to others, including Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). GCS does not permit non-students, including ICE agents, access to GCS facilities unless they can produce a warrant signed by a federal judge. School administrators will not permit the disclosure of confidential student information without first consulting their attorney to make sure that the information has been properly subject to a federal judge’s warrant.
Families should consult community resources to learn their rights and additional information will be provided to help families access these resources.
