Greetings,
This past Wednesday, our school hosted an exciting and highly competitive Hoops 4 Hope fundraiser in support of the Eagles Autism Awareness initiative. The students came out strong and built an early lead, but the staff battled back, closed the gap, and ultimately secured the victory. Most importantly, it was a great event for an even greater cause. Thank you to the organizers, Mrs. Bucci and Mrs. Hartzell, for their time and dedication in making this event a success.
Looking ahead, Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held after school on Wednesday, March 4, and all day on Thursday, March 5. Please refer to the email sent on Wednesday, February 18 for sign-up information. Registration will remain open through February 25.
We are also excited to attend the Pennsylvania Schools to Watch Conference this weekend and Monday. Our school will receive its state re-designation award, present on the benefits of teaming at the middle school level, and celebrate several students and staff members who will be recognized for excellence. We look forward to sharing photos and highlights in next week’s edition.
Finally, opening night for SpongeBob the Musical is Thursday 2/26. Our students have been working incredibly hard, and we cannot wait to see their efforts shine on stage. Additional information is included below.

8th Grade Dance Committee
The Dance Committee is gearing up for planning this year’s dance on June 5th, and we’d love your involvement! Our next meeting will be held Tuesday, February 24 at 7:00 p.m. via Zoom. During this meeting, we’ll finalize the dance theme, form committees and select committee leads, and review the budget so planning can officially begin. This is a BIG undertaking and will require many volunteers. Thank you for any assistance that you can provide to make this event fun and memorable for our 8th grade students.
Parents interested in helping are encouraged to attend and complete the interest form ahead of time. Please also encourage your 8th grade student to vote for their favorite dance theme in Schoology before February 18.

We work to carry out this mission by exhibiting respect for diversity among our student body, including but not limited to race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual identity, disability, socioeconomic class, and religion. The mission of F.A.R.E. is to promote and encourage diversity awareness, provide family support, engage in networking, and create deeper unity and understanding within the Rose Tree Media School District and the surrounding community.
Click on the FARE Information document to learn about upcoming opportunities to get involved and meeting information.
Please also refer to the school calendar for meeting dates and any rescheduling.
Cell Phones and Electronic Devices
To keep classrooms focused and learning uninterrupted, all wireless devices, including cell phones, smart watches, earbuds, and similar devices, must be OFF and AWAY during the school day unless a teacher gives a specific academic reason to use them. Students will be reminded each morning to power down their devices.
Please let your child know that you will not be texting or calling during school hours. If a student needs to reach a parent, a staff member can provide permission. In an emergency, the main office is the best way to get in touch. More details are available in the Springton Lake Student Handbook.
Thank you for helping us create a safe, distraction-free learning environment!
