Principal's Message: Gratitude
Thank you to all Kenwood parent and caregiver volunteers for your compassion, generosity, and dedication to all students and families. Thank you for your time, your humor, and your hope. I'm so proud to be a part of this kind community of helpers.
Thank you to Kenwood teachers and staff who've helped us make a nearly seamless transition to online learning without skipping a beat. You continue to amaze and inspire me!
Thank you to Kenwood students for your perseverence, your care for others, and your engagement in your learning, at school and at home.
To ALL Kenwood families and staff: you make our school community a beautiful place to learn and grow. We shine brightly because of you, in times of peace and in times of challenge.
May the long weekend provide rest, peace, and opportunities for meaningful connection.
With love,
Heidi Johnson, Principal at Kenwood

Art Adventure Picture People Volunteers Needed
In partnership with the Minneapolis Institute of Art (Mia) and the generosity of our PTA, we are pleased to be able to offer Art Adventure again this year. This program engages students with artwork from the Minneapolis Institute of Art’s collection, encourages creativity, critical thinking, and global awareness through in-depth explorations of art across various cultures and periods. Art Adventure is an opportunity for students to experience art up close and personal through reproductions, technology, and props.
We need parent volunteers, aka Picture People, to introduce classroom students to a variety of preselected artworks from various cultures, places, and eras. No art expertise is needed! Classroom visits can be scheduled based on Picture Person and teacher schedule availability during the months of February, March & April. If you have questions or are interested in volunteering, please contact Marstal Aamodt marstal.aamodt@gmail.com or if you are familiar with the program and are ready to sign up to support a specific classroom you can do so here.

Safety First During Arrival and Dismissal
Please be very cautious when you drop off your students on Penn Ave. in the morning. Drivers have reported that children have run across the street to the playground as buses and cars approach, creating a dangerous situation. Please park on the school side of the street, north of the Kenwood gate and the bus drop-off zone to prevent accidents and injury. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
