Dear District 67 Families and Staff,
I want to take a moment to extend my warmest wishes to you and your families this holiday season as we approach Winter Break. This is a time for celebration, gratitude, and togetherness and provides us with a valuable opportunity to reflect on the accomplishments and challenges of the past months and to look forward to the promise of a new year.
As we prepare for a well-deserved break, I would like to express my gratitude to our dedicated educators, staff, and, of course, to our parents and guardians, for your ongoing commitment to the success and well-being of our students. Your partnership is invaluable, and together, we have created a community that nurtures growth, education, and fosters a sense of belonging.
The upcoming new year is always a symbol of fresh beginnings and limitless possibilities. With that in mind, we are sharing a few resources with your families. The new year is a great opportunity to create new habits, refine routines, and continue to help our students grow their adaptability, resiliency, and self-reliance. We hope you will take a look!

Undesignated Medication Storage Boxes in District 67 Schools
Lake Forest School District 67 is participating in the Undesignated Medications Program in collaboration with the Lake County Health Department (LCHD). Illinois School Code permits school districts to maintain undesignated epinephrine, undesignated asthma medication, and opioid antagonists in schools (105 ILCS 5/22-30). Additionally, District 67’s policy, 7:270: Administering Medicines to Students allows the District to maintain a supply of undesignated opioid antagonists, undesignated asthma medication, and undesignated Epinephrine in the name of the District and provide or administer these medications as necessary according to State law.
Last week, the Undesignated Medication storage boxes were installed in all D67 schools in two locations and stocked with life-saving medications. Additional undesignated medications will be stored in each building's Nurse’s Office. The boxes have an alarm and the alarm will sound if opened. A picture of the boxes can be seen below.
The undesignated medications may only be administered by those individuals who have attended the undesignated medication training provided by District 67.

DPM Health Classes Have Songwriting Unit with Justin Roberts
DPM's songwriting adventure with Justin Roberts was a hit! 🎶 Students dived into mental health themes, creating songs on stress, peer pressure, and more. The upbeat tunes, even the quirky ones, unveil the students' feelings and perceptions of what's going on in their world.
Thank you to the Spirit of 67 for sponsoring this amazing experience!
