Fry Weekly Announcements

As fall arrives, more families are using the carline for morning drop-off. As a reminder, ALL drivers must adhere to the proper procedures. Drivers must pull ALL THE WAY FORWARD IN THE LINE and FOLLOW STAFF DIRECTIONS, even when it's cold or rainy! Due to the volume of cars, students must be independent, including exiting the vehicle on their own. If your child cannot get out of your car and shut the door on their own, you should park on Grassmere Dr., just past the carline exit, and assist your child getting out curbside.

Please ensure you are entering the carline by 9:00 AM at the latest (9:10 on Wednesday) in order to allow 5 minutes for your child to exit the car and walk all the way to their classroom. Students need to be in class at 9:05, not walking into the building (9:15 on Wednesday). Students who are not in their classroom when the bell rings are marked absent. Students who are late need to go to the office to get a tardy pass and have their absence status changed in the online system.

Retake pictures will be taken this Thursday, October 22nd. Any student who was absent on picture day will automatically be on the list to have their picture taken that day.

If your child needs a retake, please email Mrs. Alexander, Health Office Assistant, grizelda_alexander@ipsd.org or call the office to have them added to the retake list.

Did you miss out on the 2025-26 yearbook last spring? We have a few extra available from our staff order. If you would like to purchase, please send $30 cash or check (payable to Fry School) in an envelope marked "last year's yearbook" or stop by the office. First come, first served.

You will be able to place orders for THIS year's yearbook in the spring!

Fry will hold our annual Halloween costume parade on Friday, Oct. 30th at 2:45, weather permitting.

Students may bring costumes with them to school in the morning. Students will put costumes on in the afternoon. Costumes should be elementary-age appropriate. No weapons or look-a-likes are allowed. Dressing up is optional – we will have an alternate activity for any students who would rather not be part of the parade.

Parents are invited to watch the parade along the front or south-side sidewalks of the school. The front circle will be blocked off. The students will parade from the gym, across the front of the school, down the sidewalk of the southside of the school and in the back doors. It’s a quick parade!

In the event of inclement weather, the outdoor parade will be canceled. If this is the case, parents will be notified via email by noon.

Please note the following, copied from the Fry Handbook:

Pets, of any kind, may not be brought into school without prior administrative approval. We strongly discourage families from bringing pets onto school property. However, if parents do bring dogs to school during drop off/pick up, they must be leashed and kept away from sidewalk areas, entry/exit doors, congested areas/routine walking routes, and the playground. In summary, no student should have to walk past your pet as they arrive at or exit school. Thank you for your cooperation.
