It was a great first few days together for the start of the 2025-2026 school year. I hope you and your child felt supported in the transition back-to-school at Wolf Ridge. We are still getting our routines figured out and learning all of those school expectations again. This coming week will be our first full week together.

Speaking of routines and procedures, thank you for your patience during our arrival and dismissal each day. It will speed up as the year progresses. Please keep in mind that car numbers are NEW each year. You will need to use your new car tag, not the one from last year. Also, please be sure that drop off and pick up takes place at the carline off East Alton Street. See below for more information.

Enrollment is not complete until all documents are turned in for your child.

Be sure you have provided at least two proofs of residency to our office or uploaded those documents in the app. We will be reaching out to those who have not yet provided this documentation throughout this week.
Be sure you have provided all medical requirements including updated physicals and immunizations for certain grade levels.
New PreK and K Students: Please be sure you have provided a birth certificate.
Be sure to pay registrations fees or ask for a fee waiver application.

🚗 ARRIVAL PROCEDURES 🚌

Preschool Students & Siblings:

= Please drop off at the front entry double doors by the cafeteria under the awning. We will have a greeter at this door each morning from 7:30-8:10. It helps if preschool students are dropped off closer to 8:00am to avoid interference with our buses. If you drop off at the same time as the buses, please remember that you are never allowed to pass a stopped school bus.

Kindergarten Students:

= Parents may walk kindergarten students into the building on the first day only. Please enter through our main entrance. It would help if you do not drop off until closer to 8:00am to avoid interference with our buses at 7:30. If you do drop off at the same time as the buses, please remember that you are never allowed to pass a stopped school bus. After the first day, please drop off in the carline just off of East Alton street. We will ensure there are door greeters and escorts for them to ensure they get to the correct location.

Walkers/Bikers:

= Please enter through the double doors by the cafeteria under the awning.

Bus Students:

= The bus will drop you off at the main entrance at Wolf Ridge. Please buzz for the door to be opened. If you are the first one to the door, please hold it for all other riders from your bus to enter. If you have any questions about bussing, please contact the unit office at 618-585-3116 or email tbrown@bhcusd.org.

K-8 Car Riders:

= Please use the carline entrance off of East Alton street. There will be greeters at the side double doors to our gymnasium starting at 7:30am until 8:10am. If you arrive after 8:10, please enter into the building through our main entrance and proceed to the office for a tardy pass. A parent/guardian needs to enter with the student to sign him/her in if arriving late.

M&M Students (Before School Childcare):

= Please drop off using the carline entrance off of East Alton street. Student can enter anytime after 6:00am if registered for M&M.

🚗 DISMISSAL PROCEDURES 🚌

K-8 Car Riders:

= If you are picking your child up from school at Wolf Ridge, you will need a car tag. Car tags will be distributed by teachers at both Kindergarten Orientation and Stop&Drop Night. If you do not get your car tag at one of our back to school events, please contact the school office at 618-585-4831. We will let you know your special number. These tags will be sent home on the first day if not picked up prior. While we have made special car tags, please feel free to write the number on a blank sheet of paper and put it in your car window so that it is visible to our dismissal crew if you forget it or don't have it on your child's first day. The numbers have changed since last year. It is important to have this number written down and visible to ensure our dismissal process is smooth.

Preschool Car Riders:

= Students in preschool will not need a car tag as they will be picked up at the preschool double doors in front of the building by the cafeteria. However, if a preschool student has an older sibling, they can go together to the carline so they can be picked up in the same location.

Walkers/Bikers:

= Students will exit out the cafeteria double doors so they can proceed along the sidewalk in front of our school building and away from those students being picked up in the carline. This helps to minimize traffic around our walkers and bikers. Please stay on the sidewalk and be alert.

Bus Riders:

= Buses will line up along the front drive to Wolf Ridge. Walkers and bikers will not be dismissed until busses have left the premises. Bus students will be dismissed as soon as all buses have arrived.

M&M (After School Care) Students:

= M&M students can be picked up anytime from 3:30-6:00 just inside the cafeteria. Please enter the building through the double doors in front of the cafeteria where the awning is located. Students in this program need to be signed out each day by an approved pick up person.
