St. Michael Preschool News
Growing with God... February 5, 2025
“I give you a new commandment: As I have loved you, so you also should love one another.” John 13:34
Dear St. Michael Preschool Families,
Happy February! We made it through the cold and snow of January, as well as the fun and excitement of the 40th Anniversary and Catholic Schools Week! Moving forward, we celebrate St. Valentine and the love of Jesus.
Our teachers and assistants are working hard every day to plan developmentally appropriate lessons aimed at building faith and growth in independence. I encourage you to share the Realm notes with your child to review learning moments and create conversations. The next time you are waiting in line or wanting to distract your child, pull out the Realm newsletter and drum up conversations about the pictures. You'll be surprised what your child remembers or is willing to share.
As a reminder, enrollment for the Fall is now open. We have classes for 2, 3, 4, and 5-year-olds, including Discovery Day. We encourage you to share this newsletter with family, friends, and neighbors, and spread the word about what makes our community so special. Our church visits are open to all, and it is through your ongoing support and prayers that our program continues to flourish. We are excited for another wonderful year of "Growing with God!"
In His service,
Paula Renke

Notes from Music and Movement
Hello, blessed preschool families!
In music we had some fun around the snow days using ‘snowballs’ to make ‘popcorn’ in a song with our huge parachute. So many squeals of delight while the balls bounced in the air! Since it was too cold to go outside, we incorporated lots of large motor activities in music and movement. In addition to the parachute, we did “Bean Bag Bop”,(becoming a favorite!) “Shake My Sillies Out”, and the “Winter Freeze Song”.
“Jesus Loves Me” was our Preschool Prayer song and we will continue that one. Looking ahead, we learned a toothbrushing song to celebrate Children’s Dental Health Month: “Silly Brushing Song (Brush ‘Em Up!)” by Laurie Berkner & Tom’s of Maine and “Skidamarink A Dink A Dink”, “I Love You” (Barney) and “Friends, Friends 123” with Maracas.
Thank you for the joy your children bring to me each day and the privilege of making music together with them. Feel free to contact me at abluford@stmcary.org if you have any questions or want me to send you any songs.
Blessings,
Ms Alita
Dear Preschool Families,
Happy February! This month we will have some fun singing, dancing, and playing instruments to songs all about love, kindness and friendships.
Here are just SOME of the songs we will be learning:
Jesus Loves Me This I Know
This Is My Garden
Skindamarink
Hot Chocolate
Make A Snowball
A Grateful Heart
L-O-V-E
You Got A Friend In Me
Thank you for sharing your children with us at St. Michael’s Preschool! Don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions or comments!

Blessings,
Ms. Karen
INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY
Closings and Delays: Our policy is to assess conditions on St. Michael Campus and the local area to determine closings or delays at the preschool. We understand this may not always reflect weather conditions in your area or follow the Wake County School closings or delays, so please use your discretion when bringing your child to school.
Parents will be informed of school closings and delays via Realm through post, email, and text message to the primary phone number provided. If this information needs to be updated at this time, please let the preschool office know.
On delayed openings, Early Arrival and Lunch Programs are canceled and children bring a lunch and attend from 11:00-1:00 pm. This later dismissal time may interfere with younger children’s nap schedules, so again, please use your best judgment in sending your preschooler on these days.
