Dear Champlin-Brooklyn Park Academy Families/Caregivers,

I hope you all are enjoying summer, and are getting some time to rest and relax in the sunshine! As we enter into the final weeks of summer break I wanted to send information about teacher assignments, transportation and Open House.

Open House is Wednesday, September 2nd from 4:30-6:00 PM. This is an opportunity for you to not only come and tour the school, but to also connect with your child’s teacher! Parents/guardians will be able to access classroom teacher assignments in ParentVue on Wednesday, August 26th at 4:00pm. . You will need to use your log-in and password on the Anoka-Hennepin homepage. Contact the district help-line at (763) 506-4357 if you are having difficulty. If you come to Open House and don’t remember your child’s teacher, just check in with us in the office!

Open House: Wednesday, September 2nd from 4:30 – 6:00 PM

  • Parents/guardians and students will meet teachers and see their classrooms.

  • Information will be distributed in the classroom. There will be some information you will need to sign and leave with the teacher, and other information you can take home to help you and your child through the school year.

Transportation Schedules:

Students who take the bus will receive information about bus times and bus stop locations through the postal service. The postcards will be mailed out the week of August 31st. Parents will also be able to access transportation information through your child’s student information page on ParentVue. Your child’s bus route number, pick-up time/stop and afternoon drop-off time/stop will be available during the week of August 31st. Here are step-by-step directions for accessing your child's transportation information via ParentVue.

We are excited to see you back at school!

Kindergarten Welcome Week Information Kindergarten Welcome Week Information

Please be advised that the schedule for the first week of kindergarten is different from that of students in other grades. Additionally, note that our welcome week schedule may differ from that of other district area schools. Please see the CBPA schedule below.

Welcome Week Schedule:

  • Tuesday, September 8:
Only kindergarten students with last names A–L attend school.

  • Wednesday, September 9:
Only kindergarten students with last names M–Z attend school.

  • Thursday, September 10:
No school for kindergarten students – Family-Teacher Meetings (see below)

  • Friday, September 11:
No school for kindergarten students – Family-Teacher Meetings (see below)

  • Monday September 14:
First regular day of school for all kindergarten students.

First Two Days – "School Days"

On Tuesday and Wednesday, kindergarten teachers will welcome approximately half of their students each day. These smaller groups help students ease into school while giving teachers an opportunity to begin teaching routines and structures with fewer students in class. Our support staff will also begin collecting early academic data. Our goal is for these days to be fun and engaging for students. Parents, we know sending your little ones off to kindergarten is a huge milestone that can feel both exciting and frightening. Please know that there will be plenty of staff ready to support your child with finding their teacher on their first day, and they are in exceptionally good hand with our experienced kindergarten team.

Second Two Days - "Family-Teacher Meeting Days"

Teacher assignments will be available in Parent Vue beginning Wednesday, August 26th at 4:00 pm. Once you know your child’s teacher, you may sign up HERE for a 20-minute time slot to meet with your child’s teacher on either Thursday, September 10th or Friday, September 11th. You may choose the date that works best for you, and your child is encouraged to attend with you. Please only sign up for one slot per student.
