Laura's Village Monthly Newsletter
April 2026
Our Mission Statement
Laura’s Village empowers adults with special needs by nurturing their unique abilities, fostering independence, ensuring dignity, and building community.
What's happening this month?
We have a fun and informational Village Support meeting on April 12th. This meeting will take place at Victory Lanes in Mooresville. Our speaker will be from Monarch, and will be discussing current programming, including residential.
During the meeting, the Davidson College Buddy Club will be bowling with our friends who have special needs. To be certain we have enough bowling buddies for our friends, please REGISTER HERE.

"Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few." NASB
Although this scripture speaks to those who had yet to hear about Jesus, it also reminds us of a present need close to home—the need for passionate, committed individuals to help us expand Laura's Village.
As this need continues to grow, so does our call for like-minded professionals—individuals who recognize the inherent value and purpose in every life, who believe in the abilities of these adults, and who are passionate about creating opportunities for them to thrive and contribute.
We are seeking leaders who align with our mission, vision, and values—those ready to serve, advocate, and help shape what’s ahead.
Join us at the ground level as we build something impactful—together.
Empowered Abilities Day Program with Ms. Tiena
Goodbye winter, and hello spring! March definitely made us feel lucky! From bake-offs in the kitchen and problem-solving scavenger hunts to discovering social-emotional learning through kindness pots of gold, and fine motor fun bearding leprechauns and exploring sunken ships, every moment was filled with learning and joy. Whoever said you can’t have fun while learning new skills just hasn’t met Empowered Abilities! As the memories continue, it’s now time to hop into spring where the learning and fun continue to grow!
For more information about the Day Program, please visit the website at EMPOWERED ABILITIES or email us at laurasvillageinfo@gmail.com.

Selected for 2026!
It's official! Laura's Village is on the fundraising wall at Hoptown Brewing Co. in Mooresville. Hoptown is always "hopping" with actvihes: Music Bingo, live music, trivia nights, running events, and more. They are family and pup friendly, often have food trucks on site, and also serve non-alcoholic drinks.
Drop in anytime and add a token (or more) to our wall. Hoptown will feature us over the next year. Thank you, Hoptown, for not only believing in our mission, but more importantly, believing in our adults!
