Wildcat Update 8/9/23
September Update
From Mr. Tews
What a great start to our school year! Our school-wide meeting and Open House were the best attended in years! We continue our work to provide more opportunities for family involvement this year. It is through our partnership with Wasmer families that our students can achieve their highest levels of success. We are planning an ice cream social/PTA organizational event this month to help jump-start our parent group. It is my sincere hope that all families have the opportunity join our parent group. Even if you aren't able to join, there are many things you can do at home to support your child: Reinforce the importance of education, celebrate your child's achievements and encourage them with their challenges. Most of all, continue to tell your child that you believe in them and they can do anything! Thank you again for the great start to the school year!

News Highlights
The Chill of an Early Fall
September is here and we have already had a couple of cool mornings. Our students will be out on the blacktop in the mornings before school, as well as at recess. Please make sure your child is dressed with something warm on cool mornings and can remove clothing for potentially hot afternoons. We will continue to be outside unless the wind chill falls below 20.
Safety Patrol Coming!
If you have a 5th grade student who would like to be in Safety Patrol, please have him/her contact his/her teacher for more information. Safety Patrol will be open to 5th grade students who demonstrate exemplary personal conduct and abide by school safety protocols.
Say Cheese!
School pictures will be taken Friday, September 8th. Wear your favorite outfit and a smile! Make-up date will be October 6th for any students who were absent.
Playground Access
Due to vandalism on our playground, all gates will be locked each afternoon except for a single pedestrian access point on Koenig Street. If you would like to access the playground after school, you must use that gate. Please note that all users of the playground will be under video surveillance.
Birthday Treats
Birthdays are fun and memorable moments in your child's life. In order to ensure he/she is able to celebrate with classmates, please remember that all treats must be store-bought and packaged. There should be no nuts of any kind in the ingredients. Please drop off all birthday treats with Mrs. Parra in the office, and she will ensure they get to the class!
