A Note from the PCHS Admin Team

PCHS Community,

Bring on Seniors' last week of high school! Wow. And speaking of Seniors, we need volunteers for the Senior All Night Party! Sign-up here: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/8050F4BAEAA22AAF49-56798100-senior

Today, Seniors cleaned out their lockers and all students who ordered one received their yearbook. It's just the best to see students running around asking one another and staff members to sign their yearbook. What a great group of students we have.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to Teacher Appreciation Week, including our PTO for sponsoring a lunch on Monday and our food service team for the great spread, the main office team for the spirit cart deliveries on Tuesday, IXL and the main office team for breakfast on Wednesday, the Bagel Shoppe for breakfast this morning, our PTO, Ed Bock, and Mobile Side Bar for the awesome coffee truck service today, and for the running gift card drawing we'll get to enjoy into next week! We really are blessed with a great staff here. Thank you for helping us give them the appreciation they deserve. Thank you for your support.

Have a great weekend, Pirates!

Mrs. McBride & Mr. McMurray

We recognize a student and staff member each week, nominated by the school community based on how fellow Pirates are exemplifying Positivity Project traits and identified by our Leadership & Link Crew class. Our Student of the Week is also recognized as a part of the Livingston Daily's spotlight, published digitally on Fridays and in print on Sundays.

Emily Tripp

Emily is a well-rounded student leader who excels both in and out of the classroom. She has taken on a rigorous academic schedule filled with honors and AP courses—showing determination, self-discipline, and a commitment to growth. Emily also shines as an athlete, competing on both the volleyball and track teams, and serves as a strong role model through her involvement in class council.

Emily demonstrates the Positivity Project traits of leadership, gratitude, kindness, and perspective. She is respected by her peers and teachers alike for her positive attitude, work ethic, and willingness to lift up those around her. Emily plans to attend Ferris State University to study criminal justice, and we have no doubt she will continue to do great things in the future. We are proud to celebrate Emily’s accomplishments and her lasting impact on the PCHS community.

Chef Bart

Known for his creativity in the kitchen and his warm connection with students, Chef Bart goes above and beyond to make our cafeteria a welcoming and enjoyable place. He consistently prepares high-quality, delicious meals and is always experimenting with new recipes—eager to hear student feedback and make lunch something to look forward to each day.

Beyond his culinary talents, Chef Bart is a friendly, familiar face who greets everyone with a smile and a kind (and often funny) word. His teamwork and positive attitude shine through in the way he collaborates with his kitchen staff and supports the school community. Whether he’s checking in with students or serving up something special, Chef Bart brings joy, flavor, and heart to PCHS. We’re lucky to have him as part of our team!

What We Did in Seminar This Week What We Did in Seminar This Week

On Fridays, students spend an hour in what we call Seminar. The purpose of Seminar is to ensure every student has at least one go-to adult mentor at PCHS focused on their well-being, academic success, and connection to a healthy school climate.

Attendance, Earning Credits, & Mr. Mac's Academy Attendance, Earning Credits, & Mr. Mac's Academy

At PCHS, if a student exceeds 10 absences in a semester in a course, they must make up the time missed in order to earn the credit for that course on their transcript - a must for graduation from high school! It is very important to be at school consistently to be successful academically. Please pay close attention to your student's attendance detail in MiStar and proactively support them to stay within that 10 absence maximum per semester. If a student has a hold on their credit due to absences, it will read as an "H" on their transcript.

Mr. McMurray, our Assistant Principal, offers "Mr. Mac's Academy" on Mondays and Tuesdays from 2:30-4:30pm. This is a consistent opportunity to make-up hours due to excessive absences. To attend Mr. Mac's Academy, a student must sign up in advance at the front desk of the Main Office with Mrs. Lasure.
