βœ… Dr. Carpenter Facebook Series: Part 2 - ❓'s About Student Learning Answered! βœ… Dr. Carpenter Facebook Series: Part 2 - ❓'s About Student Learning Answered!

Next week families with students in grades 6-8 and zoned to the East Attendance Zone for the 377 campus are invited to a Parent Night on Wednesday, Oct. 29 at AMS at 6:30 p.m.

As Argyle ISD prepares to transition to two middle schools and two high schools, I sat down with Assistant Superintendent Dr. Dawn Jordan and Counseling Coordinator Dr. Heather Quast to answer the top questions parents are asking about courses, schedules, and student support.

Q: How will the course selection process work for Middle School and High School?

A: β€œTransition Nights and Course Fairs happen in January and February so families can explore options. Students then complete selections with counselors, and the course verification window opens at the end of March. So middle school students will have this opportunity soon as we prepare to open two middle schools in the fall of 2026.”

Q: Can students take any course they want when we open the 2nd Middle School and 2nd High School?

A: β€œStudents choose from electives, Honors, Dual Credit, and AP courses based on their grade level and eligibility. Both high schools and middle schools will offer the same course options to ensure fairness.”
