🐬 What a busy and wonderful week at West End! 💙💚

A huge thank-you to Mrs. Bowden for creating a magical Disney musical experience with our 2nd and 3rd graders, and to Mr. Stanitzek and Miss Davis for making Field Day so much fun and unforgettable! 🎶✨🏃‍♀️

We also want to thank our Dolphin families for supporting Red Ribbon Week! ❤️ Your encouragement helps remind our students of the importance of making healthy choices while having fun along the way.

Also, a reminder that there is no school for students on Monday, Nov. 2 (in-service) and Tuesday, Nov. 3rd (holiday).

We are so grateful for our amazing staff, students, families, and community who make West End such a special place to learn and grow, we will see you back here with us on Wednesday, Nov. 4th!

Do you know a special Veteran that you'd like to honor? Invite them to participate in our West End Veteran's Day breakfast and parade! Here's what to do:

• Complete the form below to register your Veteran for the event. Form must be submitted no later than November 1st.
• The Waves for the Brave event will include breakfast for the Veteran at 8:00am, then the Veteran will sit in a chair in our hallway while our students parade around them to wave a flag of thank you for all they have done for our country.
• Think of it as a reverse parade! We will provide a decorated sign with each Veteran's information.

⏱ West End Elementary School PTA fundraiser continues on this week! Students can register at ShopFund.com using Group Code: W88A8 to participate. Add at least 10 family & friends as contacts to unlock the Spin-to-Win game for a chance to win from over $125,000 in nationwide prize giveaways. Thank you for supporting our school!

Please plan to join us at either 12:00pm or 6:00pm on Thursday, November 5th for some pizza and a session all about raising responsible kids! We will be partnering with Carolina Family Services to offer this parent workshop free of charge with food and fun! Both sessions are the same, just indicate which session you will attend. We will also have a question/answer time at the end of the session for families to ask any school related questions. We hope to see you there!

Do you have a preschooler aged zero to four years? If so, we would like to invite you to bring him or her to our interactive story time each month here at West End. The remaining dates for the first semester are: November 12 and December 10. Please click on the link below to register your child to attend.

We are excited to offer our families a Title I Sponsored Parent Resource Center filled with educational materials that families can request to use at home! These resources are designed to provide extra practice and support your child’s learning outside of school. If your child could use a little extra practice with reading, math, or another skill, we may have a resource that can help! ❤️

Did you know that West End has a licensed mental health counselor on-site?

We are partnering with Ryan Homes to bring you a literacy at home challenge for the month of November! For every 10 books you read at home, you can bring your completed reading log across the street to the Stillwood Farms office for a prize!

Let's see how many of our Dolphins can read at least 10 books this month! Maybe more??

Did you know that West End is a proud partner with the Pickens County YMCA Mentor program? Together, we work to match students at our school with a positive, caring adult, who can provide extra one-on-one support that is extremely valuable. Here is the thing- we need more mentors!
