🏫 Around the Building:
Quarter 3 Highlights & The "3 B’s"
As we wrap up Quarter 3 and head into the final stretch of the school year, our halls have been filled with the smell of popcorn! We’ve hosted several Popcorn Parties to celebrate classes that earned their SEL badges by consistently meeting our "3 B’s" Family Agreements:
Be Safe
Be Helpful
Be a STAR
We are so proud of our students for showing up as leaders in our School Family!
IAR and Upcoming Dates
Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR) Testing
We have officially kicked off the Illinois Assessment of Readiness for our 3rd and 4th graders, which will continue through April 17th. These assessments are an important way for our students to show the growth they have made this year.
Attendance Matters: Please ensure your students are at school on time. When students are late, they miss their testing window and must participate in make-up sessions. Testing is important, and arriving on time helps your student start the day feeling calm and prepared to do their best!
Community Shoutout: United Way Reading Buddies
A huge "Thank You" to our United Way Reading Buddies! We are so grateful for the volunteers who come into our building to read one-on-one with our students. You are helping us grow essential skills and fostering a lifelong love for reading at Wells Elementary.

Kindness Awards Recipients
At Wells Elementary, "Spreading Kindness" is more than just a motto—it is a mantra that echoes through our hallways every single day. A vital part of our building-wide Conscious Discipline framework is the practice of noticing. By intentionally acknowledging the helpful and empathetic actions of our students, we strengthen our School Family and ensure every child feels seen and valued.
We are incredibly proud of our students for leading with their hearts and looking out for one another. Below, we are excited to spotlight a few of our Quarter 3 Kindness Award recipients! These students were caught "doing the right thing" and making Wells Elementary a brighter place for everyone.
🏆 Celebrating Excellence: Upcoming Awards
Q4 Recognition Spotlights We are excited to celebrate our students’ hard work and character with two upcoming awards:
Kindness Awards: Honoring students who lead with heart by being helpful and considerate to others.
Attendance Awards: Celebrating those with Perfect Attendance for Q3.
Parents, thank you for being our partners! By ensuring your child arrives on time every day, you are helping them build the responsible habits they need for success.
