Stronger Together

Dear Parents and Guardians,

As we move forward into this school year, I want to take a moment to reflect on the vital role you play in our educational community. At the heart of a thriving school district is a powerful partnership between home and school. One built on trust, transparency, and open communication.

We know that when schools and families work together, students don't just stay on track; they flourish. Open communication ensures that we are all moving in the same direction, with your child’s well-being and academic growth as our shared vision.

Why Communication Matters:

Our teachers and staff are dedicated to providing a great education, but they can do their best work when they have a full picture of your child’s needs. Keeping the lines of communication open allows us to:

  • Proactively Solve Challenges: Identifying academic or social hurdles early allows us to provide support before they become obstacles.

  • Celebrate Milestones: Sharing successes—both at home and in the classroom—helps build a student's confidence and love for learning.

  • Ensure Safety and Support: Understanding changes in a student's life outside of school helps us provide the necessary emotional and social resources.

Our Commitment to You:

We are committed to listening. Whether you have a question about curriculum, a concern about a social dynamic, or a suggestion for improvement, your voice is essential. We encourage you to:

  1. Stay Connected: Monitor our Facebook and newsletters for regular updates.

  2. Reach Out: Never hesitate to email a teacher or schedule a brief check-in with Mr. Furtney.

  3. Engage: Participate in parent-teacher conferences and attend events held at school.

  4. “Education is a shared commitment between dedicated teachers, motivated students, and enthusiastic parents with high expectations.”

Thank you for trusting us with your child’s education. We aren't just teaching students; we are raising the next generation of leaders, and we are honored to do that work alongside you.

Homecoming Spirit Week

Please encourage your students to participate in our Homecoming Spirit Week. Spirit week's are always a good way to increase student, staff, and building morale. Below is a picture of each day's spirit theme.

While attire is more relaxed during spirit weeks, please ensure your student is still respectful and responsible with their attire.

If you are late dropping off your student...

If you are late dropping off your student, after 8am, please be sure to drop them off at the front door. All other doors will be locked at 8am and with it getting so cold out, we can't have any students standing at the door waiting for someone to come let them in. Thank you for help with this.

When visiting the School...

We are so glad to have you visit and hope you feel welcomed in our building! To best ensure the safety of our students and staff and maintain the daily flow, we have a couple of important requests for visitors:

When you arrive, please use the front doors to check in and sign out at the main office.

Please do not leave your vehicle unattended in the front bus loop during the busy morning drop-off or afternoon dismissal times. We need to keep this lane clear for our buses to maneuver safely and efficiently.

Your cooperation with these small matters is greatly appreciated!

Even if your student doesn't plan on attending the senior trip, they could definitely use the help to raise funds for prom and graduation. If you are interested, please contact their class advisor, Diane Evers. Phone - (517)260-2291. Email - gypsy.snickers@gmail.com
