NES 04/07/25 Family Newsletter
04/07/2025

Dear NES Families,
Thank you to all of the families who attended our April Fools Parent Engagement event! We enjoyed seeing students and their families with the Minute to Win It challenges and creating activities they could use at home to solidify skills they use at school.
Swimming is off to a great start, please reach out to your child's teacher if you have not already signed a permission slip or need to know the days your child swims each week. Please make sure students remember these items on swimming days: swim suit, towel, slip on shoes, and a change of clothes including undergarments.
Teacher Appreciation Week is May 5th - 9th. If you are interested in donating items, assisting with funding, or helping us plan to celebrate our teachers, please feel free to reach out to Mrs. Briney, Mrs. Lowe, or call the front office. We would love to hear your ideas. Thank you to those who have already reached out!
The window for accepting Zone Waiver applications is May 1st through May 20th. Please click this link for the Zone Waiver Policy, Application, and Zone Map. We will keep this information linked in the newsletter each week until the window closes on May 20th. Many schools, including NES are at capacity, so you may be added to their waiting list.
If you are a parent of a student receiving ELL/ESOL services, and are interested in serving on a district committee for this purpose, please reach out to Brent Stuart at brent.stuart@okeeschools.org.
Our crossing guard has been out. If you are tardy and we have staff still in the bus loop, please make sure to park in a designated parking spot. Do not pull up to the curb to drop your student off, if staff is out there, we still have another bus on the way. Another reminder about school start time, students are marked tardy if they are not in the classroom by 8:10AM. If you are still in the parking lot, or just pulling in at that time, your student is tardy. Please be sure to pull around to sign them in.
We still have school shirts that were preordered but never paid for or picked up. If you would like to buy a school shirt for your student the cost is $15.
Have a great weekend!!!
GOOOOO TIGERS!!!
Warm regards,
Mrs. Jessica Lowe, Principal
Mrs. Heather Briney, Assistant Principal
