Quarter 4 Week 31!
🦁Principal's Message
Tuesday is game day — Reading STAAR is here, and it’s all hands on deck! Every smile, every word of encouragement, every ounce of belief we pour into our students makes the difference. Our 3rd-5th teachers have pushed tirelessly to get their students ready, and now it’s our moment as a full team to lift them to the finish line. Let’s show our kids that we believe in them with everything we’ve got.
Together, we make them unstoppable! Excellence, Not Without Effort.

📢 Important Updates & Action Items
2025–2026 Registration & Enrollment
- Early registration is one of the most important levers we have to plan effectively for staffing and avoid the challenges of overcrowded classrooms at the start of the year. Every family that registers now helps us create balanced class sizes, place teachers with intention, and ensure a smooth start in August.
- Your conversations with parents matter — whether it's a reminder at dismissal, a note home, or even creating a small classroom incentive to encourage registration. These efforts will pay dividends, and we'll all be thanking ourselves in the fall! Let’s work together to get our families across the finish line early.

TRS/Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas Drop UT Southwestern and Texas Health Resources
- Dallas ISD has been notified that Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas contracts with Southwestern Health Resources (SWHR) in North Texas expired on April 1, 2025. As of this date, SWHR hospitals, facilities, doctors, and healthcare professionals are no longer in the BCBSTX networks. Both UT Southwestern and Texas Health Resources are part of SWHR. This means that all UT Southwestern and Texas Health Resources providers and facilities will no longer be in-network for all TRS Active Care Plans.
- Next Steps
- If employees want to find another in-network doctor or hospital, BCBS works with employees to move their care to other in-network providers:
- Visit bcbstx.com and select Find Care to view our online provider directory, or visit your provider directory
- Register for or log in to Blue Access for Members (BAM). If you don’t have access to BAM, go to the website on the back of your member ID card.
- Call the number on your member ID card
In the case of a life-threatening illness or injury, employees should call 911 or go to the nearest emergency facility right away. Emergency services for commercial networks are covered at the in-network benefit level.
Dallas College Courses for PreK TAs
In partnership with Dallas College, paraprofessionals working in Dallas ISD PreK classrooms will have the opportunity to participate in the Early Childhood Program.
The Dallas College Early Childhood Program is a pathway that will help paraprofessionals grow in their teaching careers by providing the opportunity to gain additional work experience, expand their education by earning an associate or bachelor's degree, and receive mentorship at little to no cost. This pathway can also lead to growth for PreK paraprofessionals, who can become future teachers.
If you are interested, please let Principal Carter know so that you can be nominated!

🎉 Shoutouts & Celebrations
- To Mrs. Raper: I just wanted to drop you a note to let you know how much David is loving speech and how he is clearly making a TON of progress in just one short month! He shows us all the techniques you have taught him like “pretend your teeth are a gate” and is so proud of himself. Thank you for working with both of my boys. They are so lucky to have you!"
- Big shoutout to Ms. Diaz for her unwavering commitment to her students and her outstanding leadership in coaching Lipscomb’s award-winning Poets and Debaters!
Lipscomb Shines at District Poetry Slam & Debate Tournament!
This weekend, our talented 5th graders made Lipscomb proud at two major district events. On Friday night, Ben Aparicio and Charlie Blair competed in the District Poetry Slam, where Ben was named a Top 10 Poet! He delivered his poem live in front of the judges and audience, and while he just missed the top 3, he earned a $1,000 scholarship from the Parrish Charitable Foundation for his outstanding performance.
The excitement continued on Saturday as our 5th grade debate team took on the spring tournament, arguing the resolution: “Kids under the age of 16 should have smartphones.” Representing Lipscomb were two teams — Team 1: Harlow Santillan, Charlie Blair, and Aria Zamora; Team 2: Ben Aparicio, Charlie Bexley, and Sienna Gomez. In a fierce competition, Lipscomb came out victorious, with three of our students earning Top 25 medals: Charlie Bexley, Harlow Santillan, and Aria Zamora. To top it off, Charlie Blair was recognized as Lipscomb’s MVP for the tournament!
We are so proud of our young poets and debaters for their hard work, dedication, and incredible performances!
