Welcome Back! / ¡Bienvenidos de nuevo!

We hope each of you had a wonderful summer! We are excited to have each of our students back on campus for the 2026-27 school year. Our doors open at 7:00 a.m. each morning, and breakfast will be served to students, in their classrooms, beginning at 7:20. Please remember: students are tardy after 7:35 a.m., so please try to be on time!

¡Esperamos que cada uno de ustedes haya tenido un verano maravilloso! Estamos emocionados de tener a cada uno de nuestros estudiantes de regreso en la escuela para el año escolar 2026-27. Nuestras puertas se abren a las 7:00 am cada mañana y el desayuno se servirá a los estudiantes, en sus salones de clases, a partir de las 7:20. Por favor recuerden: los estudiantes llegan tarde después de las 7:35 a.m., ¡así que traten de llegar a tiempo!

K-6 MORNING TARDY POLICY

Regular school attendance is a priority at Weeden Elementary. Students are expected to be at school ON TIME each day, unless they are sick. Please note that learning begins promptly at 7:30 each morning and ends at 2:30 each afternoon. Students arriving at school after 7:35 a.m. are considered tardy.We will begin enforcing our tardy policy on Monday, August 17. Please review the chart below for the disciplinary progression for unexcused tardies.

La asistencia regular a clases es una prioridad en la Escuela Primaria Weeden. Se espera que los estudiantes lleguen a tiempo todos los días, a menos que estén enfermos. Tengan en cuenta que las clases comienzan puntualmente a las 7:30 de la mañana y terminan a las 2:30 de la tarde. Los estudiantes que lleguen después de las 7:35 de la mañana se consideran impuntuales.

2026-27School Calendar

Asistencia diaria

Los estudiantes deben presentarse a clase todos los días.
Los estudiantes tienen un plazo de tres días desde que regresaron a la escuela para traer una excusa a su maestro/a si han estado ausentes.
Los padres pueden enviar notas un total de 5 días por semestre para que se excuse la ausencia de sus hijos. Después de cinco días, solamente se aceptaran excusas del doctor.
Después de tres ausencias injustificadas, el padre de familia / tutor, recibirá una carta de parte de la oficina de la escuela.
5 ausencias sin excusa= Audiencia de Previo Aviso
Se presentaran cargos por absentismo escolar después de siete ausencias sin excusa.

Bus Reminders/ Recordatorios del autobús

If your child rides the bus, please fill out the ECCO RIDE form and return to school as soon as possible. Changes to transportation cannot be made over the phone. If you need to change transportation for a day, please send a note with your child. Any permanent changes to transportation will require you to fill out another form at the school office.

Pick up cards are required at all bus stops. If you do not have a card at the stop, your child will be brought back to school for pickup. If you do not have cards for your child, please come by the school office for assistance.

Please be at the bus stop ten minutes before drop off/ pick up to avoid missing the bus.

Por favor completen el formulario ECCO RIDE y envíenlo de regreso a la escuela lo antes posible. No se pueden realizar cambios en el transporte por teléfono. Si necesitan cambiar de transporte solamente un día, envíen una nota con su hijo/a. Cualquier cambio permanente en el transporte requerirá que ustedes llenen otro formulario en la oficina de la escuela.

Se requieren tarjetas de identificación para recoger a los estudiantes en todas las paradas de autobús. Si no tienen una tarjeta en la parada, su hijo/a regresara en el autobús a la escuela para que lo recojan. Si no tienen tarjetas para su hijo/a, vayan a la oficina de la escuela para solicitar una.

Estar en la parada del autobús diez minutos antes de la hora de salida/llegada para evitar perderse del autobús.

Se requieren mascarillas en todos los autobuses de FCS.

Bus Schedules

WASP After School Program/Programas de la tarde

Weeden Afterschool School Program (WASP) is a paid program that runs Monday-Friday from 2:30-6:00. WASP will begin on Monday, August 10, 2026 after school dismissal. The cost per child is $50.00, $75.00 for two children, and $100 for three children. All fees are to be paid by Thursday of each week. Parents/guardians will not be charged on days when Florence City School cancels school, releases early, or for days that are not calendar in-school days.

Children can be picked up any time after the regular 2:30 p.m. school dismissal; however, please refer to the bolded statement below. Parents/guardians are asked to pick up children by 5:55 p.m. and no later than 6:00 p.m.

All parents/guardians' information MUST be updated if any changes occur during the time children are attending WASP. Communication between parents/guardians and WASP staff is very important for the safety of children. So, if there are any changes in who will pick up a child it has to be updated on the initial WASP form and/or through REMIND from the parents/guardians.

We expect positive behavior from ALL WASP students. Each time a child has not exemplified good behavior parents/guardians will be notified. After three (3) notifications, the child will not be able to attend WASP for one (1) or two (2) weeks, dependent upon the behavior. He/she will be allowed to return after nonparticipation, but if there are any ongoing issues, the child will be permanently dismissed from WASP.
