Wasmer Weekly Update

Thank you to the families who donated desserts, drinks, and breakfast items for our teachers! Huge shout out to PTA for purchasing meals on Monday and Tuesday. Our teachers were well fueled to speak to families!

Thank you to every parent or guardian who came to conferences to share celebrations with teachers and gain insight on how your students is performing academically. We value this partnership!! We are a team!

Two of our 4th grade students, Sophia and Galvin, and Miss Z, a 4th grade teacher, are featured in this month's GIPS Podcast. During the episode, you will gain insight on the 4th grade writing process for personal narratives AND hear the personal narratives of Sophia and Galvin!

The Grand Island Elks Club will be hosting a free throw contest at Wasmer on Saturday, October 18th. This is a free event and will begin at 9.00am. If you have questions, please contact the Elk's #604 Director, EJ Corretjer (our head custodian) at 308-380-5862.

We are making a slight adjustment to our Fall Family Math Night. We will be hosting grade level math games to participate in as a family. We will not be having cars to have a trunk-or-treat, but school appropriate costumes ARE ENCOURAGED! Kids will get candy when participating in math games.

Dear Parents and Guardians,

We are excited to announce a new initiative in Wasmer’s physical education program that promotes health

and fitness! As you know, an active lifestyle is beneficial to your child's development. As part of our

curriculum, students will be focusing on improving their jump rope skills as well as many other skills and activities. This unique opportunity will allow your child to practice at home and become more confident with

their jump rope skills. We are offering quality jump ropes for purchase, owning their own size appropriate beaded jump ropes will allow your child to acquire and master new skills and stay active with friends and family.

Details for Jump Rope Purchase:

• Fill out and tear off slip below at the bottom of this letter and return it to the office or Mr. Berger

• Cost: $ 5.00 (Please bring the exact amount!)

• We will accept cash.

• Order Deadline: October 24, 2025

By purchasing this jump rope you will be supporting your child's daily habits and activities while also helping our school improve our overall fitness goals. We are confident this opportunity will be an impactful experience for all of our students and their families.

Requirements for registering for assistance:

• Children must be 12 years of age or under and currently live in your household.
• All applicants will be verified and must provide complete information in order to be eligible.
• By applying online, you agree that you will not participate in any other holiday gift assistance program this year. Acceptance letters will sent beginning December 2nd.
