⭐ Welcome Back, Salem All-Stars! ⭐
Dear Salem Families,
We hope you are enjoying the final stretch of summer! A brand-new school year is just around the corner, and we are thrilled to welcome our Salem students and families back for an exciting new season of learning, growth, and connection.
This year’s theme, One Team, One Dream, celebrates the incredible things we can accomplish when we work together. Every student, teacher, staff member, and family plays an important role on our Salem team. By encouraging one another, celebrating each person’s strengths, and working toward our shared dream of helping every student succeed, we can make this our best season yet!
As one team, we will work together to help every student learn, grow, and shine. Our schoolwide S.T.A.R. expectations guide how Salem students contribute to a positive, welcoming, and successful school community:
Safe
Thoughtful
Accountable
Respectful
These expectations will be taught, practiced, and celebrated throughout the school year. When every Salem Star does their part, our entire team is stronger!

Counselor's Corner
Hello Salem Elementary Community!
My name is Aubree Judkins (Mrs. J), and I am your friendly neighborhood school counselor. As the school counselor, my role is to empower students by teaching the social-emotional skills and coping mechanisms needed to succeed academically, personally, and socially. I believe that a nurturing and supportive learning environment is built by equipping students with essential Emotional Intelligence and Well-Being skills. Studies show that students who can emotionally regulate and collaborate effectively are more likely to engage in learning activities, persevere through challenges, and perform better academically.
To support this, I have developed a toolbox of skills based on the core components of Emotional Intelligence. My monthly classroom Well-Being lessons will focus on five main coping tools:
• Name It To Tame It
• Reframe it
• Check Your Story
• Big Deal/Little Deal
• Gimme 5
Additionally, students will receive a monthly Well-Being lesson in their Art class using the In Focus curriculum: a Well-Being program adopted by Nebo School District. I look forward to working with you and your student(s). If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me at aubree.judkins@nebo.edu.
More information and resources will be available in my monthly Counselor Corner.
