I am thrilled to welcome you all to the start of a new school year at El Dorado Middle School! It's an honor to serve as your principal, and I am genuinely excited about the journey that lies ahead.
At El Dorado Middle School, we believe in the power of relationships. Building strong connections between students, staff, and families is at the heart of everything we do. This year, let's commit to fostering an environment where every student feels valued, supported, and encouraged to thrive.
We also embrace the concept of "failing forward." Learning is a process, and making mistakes is a natural part of it. Our goal is not just to succeed but to learn and grow from our failures. So, encourage your students to take risks, try new things, and embrace challenges. It's through these experiences that they'll develop resilience and perseverance.
Creating a positive atmosphere is another essential aspect of our school's culture. We want El Dorado Middle School to be a place where students eagerly come to learn, where curiosity is celebrated, and where kindness and respect are the norm. Together, we can shape an environment that inspires greatness in every student.
I look forward to working alongside each one of you to make this year a memorable and transformative one for our students.
Here's to a fantastic year of learning, growth, and building meaningful connections.

They come with a wealth of knowledge and a contagious enthusiasm that they will bring to our classrooms. We are eagerly anticipating the positive impact they will have on our students.

βοΈ Positive Office Referrals π
Teachers have been recognizing students who exceed the school's regular expectations by writing positive office referrals. These teachers set aside time in their busy schedules to acknowledge these students with a positive referral, and in return, these students are acknowledged in their classrooms and receive a small token of appreciation.

Teaching students to fail forward. What does that mean?
It means that achieving success doesn't happen instantly; you must progress one step at a time. You can't skyrocket to the top like an elevator and achieve instant success. Instead, you need to take gradual steps toward your goals. Life often presents numerous challenges, and at times, it may feel incredibly challenging just to keep moving forward.
Counselor Corner
Hi! I'm the new EMS counselor, Mr. Jackson. This is my fourth year as a school counselor, and eighth year in education.
I'm originally from the Dallas, TX area. I most recently was a school counselor in Northwest Arkansas. I relocated to Kansas to be closer to family in the area.
I spend my spare time walking my dogs, hanging with my extended family, reading, and gardening.
Feel free to email (trjackson@usd490.org) or call me if you need any support!
