Community Compass Vol. 3
Q1 Week 3 Aug 25-29

Good Afternoon, Lion Families!
As we settle into the new school year, I am inspired daily by the joy and determination our students bring into the building. Their excitement reminds us that every day is an opportunity to grow, connect, and take one step closer to their future goals.
Thank you for your continued partnership. I look forward to a year of strong learning, meaningful experiences, and memories that will last far beyond this school year.
With Pride,
Principal Carter
Meet Ms. Martinez, our New Parent Support Specialist!
Hello to all my wonderful families my name is Cecilia Martinez Quiroga, I am the new parent support specialist at William Lipscomb elementary school. This will be my second year in the role as a parent support specialist. I was born in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon and raised in a small town named Lampazos de Naranjo Nuevo Leon. I am the oldest sister in my family and have a wonderful two-year-old daughter. I’ve been with Dallas ISD since 2013, and I ‘m pursuing a career in teaching. I have served different schools such as Medrano Elementary, Cesar Chavez Learning Center, Leonides Gonzales Cigarroa Elementary, Obadiah Knight elementary, and now William Lipscomb elementary.
My role here is to provide all families in our neighborhood with valuable information such as where to get uniform assistance, food needs, free or low-cost medical care, parent workshops, as well as volunteer opportunities for our families. I am thrilled to be working here and look forward to build connections with families and the community, bridging gaps and striving toward common goals. I am excited about the coming year and the potential for positive transformations. Together, let us create a supportive environment that fosters the growth and success of our students. If any family needs assistance feel free to contact me at the phone number/ email provided below.
Thank you.
BEST REGARDS,

🌟IB Parent Pack🌟
This week, we’re highlighting the IB Parent Pack—a guide designed to help families better understand the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP). The Parent Pack explains what the PYP is, the six themes students explore, how the IB supports high-quality teaching, and the role parents play in their child’s IB journey .
Whether you’re new to Lipscomb or looking to deepen your knowledge of the IB, the Parent Pack is a great resource to answer common questions and provide insight into how the PYP builds curiosity, creativity, and a lifelong love of learning.
