Glenn School Eagle Post
April 2026
Superintendent's Nest
I hope you are all enjoying your Spring Break!
Heading to the library is a great way to check out some new or old books, magazines and other materials to have on hand during break and also all the other days of the year! Breaks are a great way to recharge and reset. Thank you parents for encouraging your child to read every day. Modeling reading in front of your child/children helps to instill habits in them, even if it is a newspaper or magazine. Remember Readers are Leaders!
Students continue to receive a book monthly to grow their home libraries. I purchased these books with donations from The American Legion in South Haven. I truly hope students are enjoying the books they get to keep and read. In March we were grateful for volunteers coming in to read to the students as Mystery Readers. We enjoyed hearing them read different books and we never heard one more than once. We even got to guess what each of their jobs were. Thank you to everyone who made March an extraordinary month!
We will be hosting a Book Blast Off on Friday, April 24th from 3:15-4:15 in the Multi Purpose Room. Our school and students are featured in a newly released book called Flossie the Snowflake and Her Special Sparkle written by Belinda Ricketts who is a local author. Dr. Bader from Jimbabwe Acres will also be in attendance to sign books! You can purchase this book and/or her other 2 children’s books on Amazon.
During the month of April we will be collecting cake mixes and frosting to create Birthday Boxes. The students will design cardboard boxes, then we will pack them with supplies for a birthday party. These boxes will then be donated to Ladders of Hope Food Pantry in Fennville. They give them to families with a child who has a birthday coming up. This is a fantastic way for our students to be good citizens and give back to our community.
Remember April showers bring May flowers!
Sincerely,
