MESSAGE FROM OUR PRINCIPAL
This year, GAMS is excited to launch a new incentive program designed to celebrate students who live out the Warrior Way: Be Here, Be Involved, Be Committed, and Be Kind.
Students who meet the program’s expectations will have the chance to earn rewards, attend special events, and even participate in field trips.
To qualify, students must meet the following requirements:
#BE HERE Positive attendance (0-1 unexcused absences / tardies for the quarter)
#BE COMMITTED All grades are passing
#BE KIND No more than 9 teacher-handled discipline referrals/sign-ups (per quarter); No more than 2 office referrals or 1 referral that resulted in ISS/OSS within 30 days of the event or activity (per quarter); No more than 7 discipline referrals for the current school year.
At the end of each quarter, eligibility resets—giving every Warrior a fresh opportunity to succeed. We believe all students can demonstrate strong attendance, passing grades, and positive behavior.
Ask your student how they are doing toward these goals! Some rewards will be surprise “pop-up” celebrations, while others will be planned in advance. The key is that Warriors should always be striving for eligibility. If you have any concerns regarding your student and the progress they are making, I encourage you to reach out to your student’s teachers and counselor.
It’s a Great Day to be a Warrior!

COUNSELOR'S CORNER
With the holiday season coming up, we wish to provide information about the Holiday Family Outreach Program, which is run by a non-profit organization in Adams County. The attached letter provides additional information about the program, which provides toys and a Kennie's Market gift certificate to low-income families. This program is specifically for families with children 12 years old and younger as of 12/31/25. Families must be able to participate in Toy Day on Saturday, December 13, 2025.
Please be aware that information will be coming next month about the Warrior Winter Wishes program, which is an opportunity for families with older children to request holiday gifts for their children. This is separate from the Holiday Family Outreach program, and families are encouraged to choose the program that best suits your needs.
To participate in the Holiday Family Outreach Program (children 12 & under), families can either:
1. Print and complete the attached form and return it to the middle school guidance office OR
2. Complete the Google form here: Holiday Family Outreach Family Form
The deadline to apply for participation is Thursday, November 6.

RUTH'S HARVEST
Dear Parents/Guardians,
We would like to extend an opportunity for your child to participate in a program sponsored by the churches of Gettysburg, Gettysburg Area School District, and several other community organizations called Ruth’s Harvest. The program will start at the end of September for the 2025-2026 school year.
The Ruth’s Harvest program provides your child with a bag of nutritious food and snacks for the weekend. If you elect to participate in this program, your child will pick up a bag each week at the end of the day on Thursday or Friday in the main office during dismissal. Please know that both the school and the organizations involved with this program will take every precaution to ensure that the identity of the students participating in the program will remain confidential.
If you would like to take part in the program, please complete and submit the form here: Ruth's Harvest Program. If you choose to cancel your participation at any point, please contact our office at 717-334-6254 Option 3.
