Summer Update
July 24, 2026
Message from the Principal
Dear Nativity Families,
As I write this, I hope you are enjoying these final weeks of summer vacation and finding time to slow down, reconnect as a family, and create lasting memories through adventure, exploration, and rest. Summer is a gift, and I pray it has been a time of joy and refreshment for each of you. While our students have been away, our campus has been anything but quiet! Since the last day of school in June, our team has been hard at work completing several exciting projects that will enhance the safety, functionality, and beauty of our campus for the year ahead.
Our largest undertaking has been the complete replacement of our fire alarm and fire panel system. This has been a significant project, requiring weeks of intensive work in every classroom and building across campus. Alongside the installation team, drywall and paint specialists have worked diligently to restore every wall and space affected during construction. I am delighted to share that we are awaiting the results from our final inspection and are hopeful the new system will soon be fully operational.
This upgraded system includes a state-of-the-art voice evacuation system with speakers throughout both our indoor and outdoor campus spaces. It also features a new campus wide public address system, allowing us to communicate more effectively during emergencies as well as for everyday announcements. The safety and well being of our students and staff remain our highest priority, and this important investment reflects our ongoing commitment to providing a secure learning environment.
With the Holy Family Activity Center temporarily offline, we also took the opportunity to give our gym a well deserved refresh. The entire space is being repainted from floor to ceiling, creating a clean and polished environment for all of the many activities that happen in this space throughout the year.
We also completed a roof repair over our fourth-grade classroom to address a leak that had developed. Thankfully, the project went very smoothly, allowing us to preserve all of the original roof tiles while ensuring the issue was fully resolved. We are grateful that the repair was completed successfully and that this part of our campus is ready to welcome students back for the new school year.
Behind the scenes, we have also upgraded our campus internet infrastructure with a new network switch system and access points, and our teachers will be returning in August to brand new laptops. These technology enhancements will strengthen instruction, collaboration, and learning. We are incredibly grateful to our PTG, whose generosity through their Gala fundraising efforts made these upgrades possible.
As I write this, Casiano and his crew are putting the finishing touches on a beautiful shaded structure for Kindergarten lunch that will provide our youngest students with a comfortable, ventilated space to enjoy meals together. It already looks fantastic, and I know it will be a wonderful addition to our campus for years to come. Once again, this project was made possible through the incredible generosity of our PTG and every family who supported this year's Gala. Thank you for investing in our school and helping us create an exceptional learning environment for our students.
As summer draws to a close, I encourage you to savor these remaining days together. Read a few more great books, enjoy family time, and take a moment to thank God for the blessings of this season. We are eagerly looking forward to welcoming our students back on Wednesday, August 19, for another wonderful year of learning, growing, and deepening our faith together. We can't wait to see you back at Nativity!
With gratitude,
Brittany Bateman
